Service was relatively attentive but tipping is mandatory and is set at a high amount. Food was very good and came in large portions. Does get pretty packed since the restaurant is small when it’s dinner hours.

Small place but fantastic food. I’ve lived in Taiwan and this place is authentic food.

Every meal is too salty, very salty, tastes bad, and I can't eat it.
This is one of my favorite Asian restaurant to go but today they gave me the wrong order and didn’t hear any sorry from them, I even got blamed that they double checked my order but I really did order fish. I didn’t say anything against them I just said ‘“that’s okay/ that’s fine’” but not hearing any acknowledgement from their wrong was so OFF, they we’re very rude to me as I was the who did the mistake. I hope one day you’ll learn to acknowledge your mistake and be nice! There’s always KARMA!

Sadly, this was once the best Chinese food in Buffalo. 🚨There is a new chef🚨 and I could tell immediately. The egg fried rice, once light, delicate and simple with scallions, is now akin to what you’d get at Panda Express. The General tso, which before was a mountain of crispy, tangy, fresh chicken, is sort of just like any other over sweetened chicken.
The homemade dumplings were still good. But it’s just devastating because the food here before the new chef was the best Chinese I’ve ever had anywhere. I really hope they find someone new because what they had was truly special. I also heard the woman behind us complaining about the food and they even sent their food back.
PLEASE BRING BACK THE OTHER CHEF THE TALL BALD GUY THAT MAN WAS AN ARTIST 😭

I rarely write a review, but my boys were really disappointed and I agree with them to use my account for this review: The take out portion size has to be studied for a war crime. They are like giving us rations for WWIII. $34 for a nuclear bunker tin can of food is quite diabolical. Like we can’t be for real right now. The Mongolian beef tasted very soggy and no flavor at all. Fried rice was ok but overall both dishes were prepared with little heart to our opinions. Well, we saw a review saying there is significant more serving size when you eat in than take out. It feels kind of unfair. Looking up the stars again, it made us think it could be just bad luck, but I’m sorry we wouldn’t try next time.
I have been here a few times already. The food is always good and affordable. The server lady is also sweet and kind. Definitely recommend this place.

You may feel disappointed at the time you step into this restaurant as its actual appearance is not as impressive as it is on the website. The restaurant is small , just a little bigger than a typical Chinese takeout. However you will be surprised when the dishes are served. The test was really authentic and good. However, one of the dishes, the green beans were either some what overcooked or reheated old ,did not tasted as it was supposed to be. Also, they served really fast, making me doubt whether they were precooked package food. Anyway the food tasted better than I expected.

China Taste is one of our favorite places to go in Amherst. There are two dishes that we get consistently. The first is their stir fried cabbage in chili oil. The cabbage has great umami flavor while maintaining its crispiness. The second dish we almost always get is their mapo tofu. We order it extra hot because that's how we like it but be mindful that it is really spicy. The tofu has great texture and the flavor is well balanced. The blend of fermented black beans and chili paste is wonderful and the spiciness comes more from the chilis than the Sichuan peppercorns. If you're looking more for an authentic experience, this is absolutely the place to go. Service is always friendly and welcoming too.

This is one of the two best and most authentic, which to me means the same thing, Chinese restaurants in Buffalo. I don't know how they do with American Chinese food, but the Chinese Chinese food is like being in China, only better, because it is usually easier to get consistently high quality meat and produce in the United States than it is in China. Many dishes that you will not see at most Chinese restaurants, like two dishes with frog and three eggplant dishes. Surprisingly reasonable prices, also.
Best cumin lamb ever. Every time I visit Buffalo I make sure to stop by for some. Dumplings are yummy too, and the green beans with pork. I have tried a few places in NYC that have their own versions of cumin lamb and end up disappointed because they are not as yummy and meaty as this one. Yum!
