I have never tasted a salt rising bread so scrumptious before when I’d go to my in-laws in Belfast, BUT something has definitely changed. Why did you change the recipe? It now just tastes like white bread- no unique flavor or taste.

Unfortunately, they are not making the salt rising bread that I grew up with for 50 years. I know the exact smell, taste, and texture and this is not it. I will say that I am impressed with the number of locations that sell the bread but it comes at the cost of an inferior product. When I found out that they were selling the bread again, I didn't hesitate to buy 6 loaves so I had enough to freeze. As soon as I opened the bag (fresh), I said "Oh no." I put it in the toaster and my fears where confirmed. Generic bread with barely a hint of the salt rising characteristics that l fell in love with 5 decades ago. When the bakery closed (2020?) I even went as far as buying a book dedicated to salt rising bread and started making the bread myself.Yes, very finicky and labor intensive bread. I get it. But I made it myself so there is no conusion on what the product should be in its original form. You could smell it in the toaster throughout the whole house. For hours. So I know the recipe for the starter, the sponge, and the bread and what the end results should be. Too bad, they are now selling a generic commercially available product that comes up far short of what Angelica Bread was born to be back in the 60's. Shame it shares the same name. Many will be mislead, at least once.

Salt Rising bread just isn’t the same as it used to be , to bland . Maybe I’m thinking it should be as great as when it was Graham’s .

No longer at this location, as we found out the hard way. They also don't sell to the public. You can buy their salt rising at a grocery across the street from the new bakery location.

Extremely hard time finding where the bakery was and how to purchase the product. Had to drive to three different places to finally getting bread.

The best salt rising bread I've had. Toasted, just the best ! Wish this place could expand and spread this bread nationally ! I know, lots of work, but I can wish ! Would love to know the recipe, as they are closed now until this virus challenge is over. Just wonderful bread !

It seems like this bakery may be closed to the public. There is a sign at the location of the bakery indicating that you can buy their famous salt rising bread at the Angelica Sweet Shop and the local grocery store in Angelica. The salt rising bread is delicious but if you're looking for a bakery with bread, pies, cookies and a nice venue to sit down I'm not sure this is it- the Sweet Shop across the street may be more of what you're looking for. Because we can't seem to find an actual storefront for this bakery, I wouldn't recommend coming here.
