Place is out of touch with the people in apalachin and unfortunately has gained a bad reputation for the crowd the bar attracts. Their attempt of trying to create an ithaca type venue outside of ithaca ultimately became their downfall as the people of apalachin are far different from the people of ithaca.
Food is alright but the place is boring. Nothing to do besides stare at a wall. Very nice aesthetic but lacks any type of entertainment when the music isn't blaring and you're trying to scream over it. Hopefully the next owner does right by the bar and takes advantage of what could be a great bar.

Great bar food. Far from healthy but yummy! Drinks are decent(inconsistent) one bartender makes it and its eh and then the other one makes the same and it's like woahhh! My true grivences with this place are A) no TVs, why would a bar have no television? Sports, game shows, even the gambling tvs. B) No other activities, no bar games, no darts, no cornhole, no shuffle board, no pool, nothing to do, if the band stinks .... (crickets). C) prices are a little steep. Place better check Dave and Busters prices. I hope they make the changes or they should change their name from bar, tavern, to small concert venue.
Parking: Limited parking lot but lots of street parking available. This place is closed in the winter I believe?
Came in for the first time. The staff were very friendly. The calzone was amazing. I have gone to Italian restaurants and they were not nearly as good. The menu says personal but my husband and I could have shared our calzone. The Chicken Wing dip had excellent flavor!! Will come back!

I have been to ransom steel many times, and was just there on Friday the 15th to watch a band and this is a top-notch place when you walk in it as if you were walking into big a log cabin that's the best way I can explain it.The atmosphere is very good very nice and cozy the bar and the walkway between it may seem small but there are tables to sit at and there is a second floor with a full bar that was in the not in use at the time as well.I've only marked the food at three stars because when I was there at the time there was always pizza and garlic knots, And I've never been there to have like a full food service meal or anything else like that So when I was there just the other night they had pizza and garlic nuts which were amazingStage is nice and thick enough for a good size band to perform on it from the two photos of the band that was playing yesterday was our friends from Broken Arrow there it has great sound resonance because of the wood.
