We had to wait extra long for our food because they were catering to a large table of people (8-10 peple) Also, the owner, Joe, came to our table, and he had obviously been drinking.Parking: Horrible parking options. You have to walk across Creek Rd to get to restaurant. People fly down that rd, and it is extremely dangerous.

Fantastic find in Poughkeepsie NY. Owner Lauren greeted our party of 6 at the door friendly and kind. Our table was spacious and comfortable. Martinis are fabulous, warm rolls decadent. The main dishes were timed perfectly, served piping hot on a chilly evening. Definitely will return when in area. I recently called to make a reservation for a small dinner party for 12 people and spoke to the owner and asked if we could do separate checks. There are people that drink and some that dont. There are some that have dessert and some don’t. I was told no can’t do it. I was told we are not a diner and we won’t do it. I was in such shock. I said you are willing to give up a $700.00 bill and she said yes again I was shocked again and said wow I cancelled the reservation. It amazed me that in this economy that your restaurant can afford to do that. The business must be doing great. Lol lol. I will never step foot in that restaurant again. I want to add that we ended up going ago Jason Patrick’s and they were happy to accommodate us with separate checks.

I had reservations at 6:30p. Party of 3 arrived @6:25p. I was told the table we were assigned to had people still dining there the hostess apologized but was not sure how long we had to wait. We asked about another table & were told this was our assigned table. The hostess told us the table in the bar area available but the bar was already crowded so didn’t want people on top of us while dining. We asked wasn’t there another table for us even upstairs I was told all full there. We waited 30 minutes to be seated while standing by the door since there was no other place to wait.The meal was ok but nothing I would rave about after waiting that long. Two people had the 16 oz sirloin only included either one type of potato courgette or a vegetable not both. The potato courgette was cold. There was a salad included. The rolls were very hard.I’ve never been to a restaurant where I had to wait that long with reservations.It was very disappointing. On a positive note the waiter was very attentive to us, polite & courteous.

We had dinner at J. Domenick’s last evening with family from CT. Previously we have always had a delicious meal and great service here. We were very dissalojnted with our food last evening. My crabmeat stuffed filet of sole tasted very fishy along with the so called crab meat stuffing hardly containing any crabmeat, mainly bread crumbs. I barely got through a quarter of the meal and wouldn’t eat anymore and spoke to the waitress about this. Another family member had the stuffed crab meat shrimp dish and again the shrimp was like rubber with no crab meat in the stuffing. A third family member had veal parmigiana dinner and said the tomato sauce was very watery, not good for the money that we were paying Unfortunately the quality of the food was not up to our expectations at all, which disappointed us as long time customers of J. Domenick’s. We were also surprised that a Manager didn’t even come out to apologize for the issue of our food.

I recommend reservations,luckily we were there early and took us. This was my first time visiting this restaurant and I was beyond impressed! The food,the drinks and even the bread with the delicious garlic spread was superb.The staff was very friendly and was great at topping off drinks. I ordered the stuffed shrimp over mushroom risotto and it was devine with the drink I ordered. I loved this restaurant and definitely will be returning to try new dishes!

Terrible service here, from the food, to the rude owner. To the horrible wait times to even get an appetizer. 2 hours to get our dinner for 3. What a shame. Also, the prices are high for the low quality of food. Chicken felt like rubber. Don’t recommend coming to this horrible place.

They close at 10. We came in at 8:52 and they wouldn't seat us. They said they were closed because the kitchen closes at 9. Ridiculous!!! It wasn't 9!In response to your reply: Ridiculous reply. You changed your hours to close at 9, after your hostess said "We close at 10". Doesn't matter, it wasn't 9!! I've worked at many restaurants. If someone comes in 5 minutes before closing, they get served! Not even an apology. Very poor customer service!

Although the food was ok, the portions are rather small. The service was slow and far from attentive. We had a very nice waitress but she had very little help. Then again, being short staffed would not be a surprise considering they would be dealing with the manger or owner we had the pleasure to interact with. The reservation process was strange and the dining room was very warm. We had a gift certificate with no expiration on it and the manager felt it necessary to come over to tell us they no longer accept gift certificates. Apparently it is under new ownership and it is very evident. If you are going to acquire customers by keeping the name of the restaurant the same, then you should have enough business sense to accept gift certificate that are for your establishment and location with no expiration on it. I was actually embarrassed for the manager/owner as well as the restaurant to have so little clue and to think this is acceptable. When I said, I'm sorry to hear you won't accept it. We will not be back. She said "OK". Hard to believe someone could be clueless enough to deny a $50 gift certificate In lieu of many many meals from myself and everyone that I express how disgraceful of an experience I had. I guess that explains why there was so many open tables on a Friday night. I highly suggest you avoid this place. If you want way better food, large portion and good service go to Stephanos in Fishkill. If you want a class on pathetic management, visit J Dominick's. She will be happy to teach that class.

My party arrived at 6pm on a Friday.The food was ok. WAY too much oil in the salad and on the special chicken I had. Prices too high for food quality.My party sat outside which was nice because it was a beautiful evening. The music on the patio was so loud that we had to shout to barely hear each other. Two requests to turn the music down got it to a level where we just had to listen very closely. As one person said, learn to read lips before you go. We were seated far from the speakers.Service was average.The chairs on the patio are very uncomfortable and not appropriate for dining seating.I doubt I will ever go back.
On our anniversary we always go to J Dominick’s for dinner. Last night was very disappointing. My wife had ordered a veal dish with eggplant. When the dinner arrived she had noticed that the eggplant was missing. I had to find our server to tell her about the problem. The server took our meal. About 2 minutes later the floor manager came back with our meal and she had to show us where the eggplant was. One very thin piece of eggplant was hiding under the veal. Not a good dish at all. Prior to getting our meal we had spoken to the floor manager about booking a party for our 50th anniversary for next year. Not now!

I don’t know why my review keeps getting removed but I went here for Mother’s Day Dinner. The short ribs tasted like pot roast and was all fat and grizzly . 2 of us couldn’t even eat it. The drinks took over 45 minutes to arrive and tasted like Virgin drinks because there was no alcohol in them. There is no kids menu so DO NOT go if you have children . I asked for a half a portion of pasta for my granddaughter and they said no. We sat over an hour before they took our order and the hostess said that’s a normal wait time. I do not recommend!

I have lived in the area for several years, chioces are limited. I have been to J Dominick's several times. The food is over prices and underwhelming. But like I said limited choices in pleasant valley . Mothers Day I placed a togo order, my fiancée went to pick it up after several awkward moments of being ignored he was finally able to get someones attention to only find out they canceled the order. " they turned off their doordash". I called the restaurant after checking my card ....that had been processed, I spoke with a woman who blamed doordash, stated they dont even use doordash, this happens 5 times a week. No sorry, no apologies nothing. Just blamed door dash, and sometjing about nit even getting money from door dash somethingabout college kids. In the end I ordered from Madison's like I know I should of done in the first place. I will never do business with J Dominicks again.

J Dominick‘s become our restaurant of choice over the past year. They are extremely good if you want to celebrate a very special occasion there. Lauren and the entire service team is top notch. I can’t say enough about her kindness, compassion and Genuine hospitality. She is extremely good at what she does and I believe the whole restaurant revolves around her. In addition they have some phenomenal family meals that we usually get 3 to 4 meals out of it. The salad they serve with it is exceptional. Their chefs are extremely excellent in the high quality and Flavor profiles of the food. We are crazy about this restaurant and I can’t say enough great things about it. Thank you Lauren and the entire staff for being beyond five star!!!

We had my Wife’s Birthday Party upstairs and everything was Perfect! We had family drive from NJ and Westchester and they were Amazed by the Food, the Service and the Atmosphere! We had appetizers, salad, bread, entrees and dessert! We did not feel rushed at all and were made to feel like Family!
