Food was delicious as usual. I changed up my drink ever so slightly and I was not disappointed. Generally speaking I get an old fashion based on recommendation tried "the babe" definitely highly recommend. The corn bread was delicious, the deviled eggs with jalapeño and duck out of this world. We had the fish and chips pipping hot super light crisp and seasoned perfect and the yard bird which was amazing! Can't go wrong with beginnings!!!
I've been a long time Beginnings fan. I had my wedding there, and attended birthdays and showers. The team is friendly and accommodating. New menu has some of the old favorites and lots of great options. It was awesome!
Very large menu, but the food was good. You can get the wonderful blackened swordfish without the highly spicy accompaniments if you wish. Inside is pretty, but quite loud. Outside tables at the side are plain but comfortable and quiet. Front tables have more traffic noise. Staff is delightful and efficient.
We really like eating here. The food is fresh and delicious . As to the noise, we have only eaten outside. Indoors is much too loud for this senior and the other seniors in the foursome.
Disappointed...well written mouth watering menu. Clams with a hot dog? You can say it was chorizo as much as you want...smells like a hot dog..tastes like a hot dog..it's a sliced hot dog. Clams were gritty.
Where do I even begin? Called for a last-minute reservation for our anniversary, I thought I’d take a shot at trying to get in on a Saturday night at 9 PM and whoever answered the phone made it work for us. The entire staff made our anniversary special, greeted us with champagne and wished us a happy anniversary, I was not expecting that, but they really made our night SO special. I know they are under new ownership so I wanted to mention they are doing an outstanding job. I can’t wait to visit again for my birthday coming up. Thank you again to the staff at beginnings!!
We ordered the Spicy tuna sushi, Spicy tuna cakes, The meatloaf, Eggplant meatballs. ALL AMAZINGGG.

Love this place! I had a single burger with cheddar, and it was delicious. Just an amazing, amazing burger. The “salad” it came with was underwhelming, however…more like diced…cabbage? In a light dressing. Not quite the healthy side salad I was expecting. Other folks in my group had the Yard Bird and gave it rave reviews. The mashed potatoes were fantastic. The atmosphere is truly exemplary- a beautiful interior with a literary theme; their back wall looks like a giant bookshelf, and there are fragments of parchment with scribbles hanging from the ceiling, as well as framed pictures of notable writers on the front wall. The bathroom is semi-hidden behind a door with a bookcase on it- look for the exit sign :)
Parking: After 5 pm, you can park on surrounding streets for free. I think only on one side of the street, maybe. There’s a valet lot at the restaurant but I didn’t catch whether it was free.

I highly recommend Beginnings. The food here is amazing! Our favorites are the Bonchon Wings, the filet mignon sandwich, and Yard Bird. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is so nice. Definitely add Beginnings to your must try list!!

We went for the Barry Potter theme night and we had a great time. We didn't love the Shepard's pie or brisket slider but we loved the flourless chocolate cake, shrimp and seaweed, and french onion soup. There were several alcoholic drink parings which were nice but we didn't find one we liked. The atmosphere was great and very fun. Good decorations and the staff we're very quick and attentive. Pretty pricey though at $65 per person and mandatory 20% gratuity. I would definitely check the full prefix menu on a theme night like this.
Being a creature of habit, I ordered the rib dinner,, boy I'm glad I'm a creature of habit. Best ribs and brisket I've ever had . Don't look at the $40 price tag, it last for three days, so the real price tag is $15. So worth it. Great restaurant.
Fun literary vibe with great food and a wide variety of selections. I had the swordfish which was wonderful and definitely try the cornbread which is served in a skillet and is delicious.
Very noisy restaurant. Tables too close together. Chairs way too low for tabletop height. Had deviled eggs. Two whole eggs for $17, way overpriced. Our stupidity not to question. Mains were Greek salad, small, and blackened swordfish, not blackened. Mediocre, at best and overpriced. Service okay. We will not return.
The food is great but this is the second time we dine here and the service is very poor. We've come with our toddler both times so we've asked for bread to start because we know our toddler will get impatient sitting and waiting for the food, and the first time, the bread never came. The second time (yesterday), the bread came AFTER all the food came , which was a good 30-40 minutes of waiting. By then , what is the point of the bread? We also ordered apple juice for him, which never came.. and when we asked if the Brisket burger was kosher, the waitress had no idea.. we asked again if it was beef or pork, and she just said “it's brisket so both” which just left us confused to we ordered the regular burger because it was safe.
