Absolutely spectacular meal designed and prepared by Chef Lou!! Watching her cook and prepare each plate was a revelation and fascinating combination of storytelling and instruction. Each plate was small but exquisite, and collectively amounted to almost more than we could eat! Every course had a completely different set of flavors, from pheasant roulade, to pork bellies, and pistachio sauced linguine. We finished with a delightful pumpkin pavlova - spiced and sweet. The space was welcoming - warm and bright, with a large island seating eight, and a cooktop set into the center. There was light conversation among the guests and all felt comfortable and at ease. A large video screen above ensured that all could watch the magic happen. I would definitely repeat this wonderful experience!
Lou and Dane did an exceptional job with the food. There was so much food and each course was just as delicious as the one before it! The laid-back and interactive experience at Aurora Cooks is very unique. Lou really promotes a welcoming and friendly atmosphere in which one can dine with a variety of people visiting Aurora and a couple of “townies”! Amanda was exceptional as the server for the evening. She is always so friendly, welcoming, and attentive! I highly recommend trying this unique dining experience
Unique, high-end, immersive, and impressive, delicious food. Lou and her team are excellent hosts, chefs, servers, tour guides, and conversationalists all while offering an outstanding meal. We had an excellent evening among a small group of 16 or so around the beautiful chef's island. Would absolutely recommend this to others visiting the Aurora area.
I was very disappointed that the Chef did not share the recipes as she cooked them unless asked That was the main reason I wanted to attend, to learn about what the ingredients were and note down the recipes While the set up of many tv screens and counter seating was great something has to be done about the ventilation, it was minimal and I had to go outside for some fresh air in between courses The food was very good and presented well We had a lively crowd so it was fun
So worth it! Such a great experience, and Lou makes it so much fun (not to mention the food is amazing)
Simply awesome!!! Lou is a great chef and host. Her food and pairings made a great evening. The Olive Oil cake is incredible!!!
This is a fantastic experience. Great food, entertaining and educational and just the right pace of food. Lou is amazing.
It had been a while since we were last here and remembered an elegant setting with delicious food. Unfortunately, time hasn't been good to this place. The decor is tired and needs a refresh. More importantly, the flies! Oh man, we spent the entire meal swatting away dozens of disgusting flies and the staff didn't seem to want to even acknowledge it was an issue. On top of that, the menu has been pared back significantly and the food was mediocre at best. So disappointing.
Another incredible meal at 1833. This is one of our favorite places. The staff is always professional, friendly and helpful. The food is the absolute best around.
Nice ambient..and an attract farm to table menu. Had good flavor. I had the bolognese and she had the gnocchi. But I would not classify the quality as fine dining. Service was nice but slow. Would come back but opportunity for improvements.

I was disappointed in the quality of the food, the presentation and the variety on the menu and the room was very loud and it was difficult to have conversations.
We were really looking forward to dinner to celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary. It started out good with complimentary champagne. The appetizer was great too Jamon and Burrata cheese. The entrees' were a mixed bag. My steak was good, cooked perfectly. My wife's Bolognese was spicy (a fact not noted on the menu). She only ate a small portion. Desserts were very good. Despite the restaurant not being very crowded, and with multiple servers, service was slow. The noise level was high. We were by a door leading to the patio which was constantly being left open allowing flies to enter. Since it was very warm outside, it made our table hotter.
Delicious dishes and superb service in the most lovely location. From the appetizers to the dessert and everything in between, we loved every bite. Beautiful presentation and overall fantastic ambiance. We were particularly impressed that the staff made a point to ask our names and thanked us by name on our way out! The 1833 Kitchen & Bar is a must visit if you are in the Finger Lakes Region.
Everything was amazing: the service, the food, and the ambiance. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant.
My husband and I dined at 1833 to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. Between the delicious food and lovely ambiance, we couldn't have chosen a better place! Our server was pleasant and attentive and helped make the evening unforgettable!
