I was super excited when I saw this establishment opening and had my excitement validated when I stopped in for a quick lunch special. I got the brown stew chicken with rice n peas and cabbage and it was friggin delicious!! I knew I would be back! Today, I took my 13 year old daughter to pick up dinner on our way home. This time I got the j*** chicken. It was damn good, especially with that sweet sauce! I also got a taste of the chicken soup which was killa!! Perfectly balanced with just enough kick! Chef Winston has a wicked sweet hand!! & Chante is a real sweetheart. It’s very exciting to have delicious, affordable Jamaican Soul food so close to home! Thank You!

I hate that I have to leave this negative review knowing that this not only is a small business but a black owned business. But, I always do reviews when service was very very good or very very bad. First time patronizing this business and because I love patties and they are my one stop fast food I am very sad to have had this experience. I sent my son inside as I watched interaction from the car right outside the door. There were about 2 people in front of him which I would say in my opinion took longer than they should have because they are only plating already cooked food. Once they were gone it took over 5 minutes b4 the young lady with the braids came to take his order and once she did she disappeared over 10 minutes into the back. It was 4 beef patties w/ cocoa bread. I found this more than upsetting because I was in an extreme hurry and I was very perplexed by watching how she took up the food from where they were kept and then took them into the back and didn't come back. Let me mention there were 2 other workers in the back to help out when needed up front but didn't, one of which I can say, since I don't know her name, was a slightly heavy set girl that was sitting on the stool right behind the curtain, a guy and the girl w/ the braids that was helping him. Three workers in a business and a customer can't get in and out. But let's get back to the beef patties that made this stop 15-20 minutes. The beef patties originally came from the case right behind the counter. The bread came from the basket on the counter. So, why did she have to go in the back over 10 minutes with them? I'm not really sure because they were VERY VERY cold when they got to the car. I don't even think the oven on the counter was on because in 10 mins they wouldn't have cooked down so much. This is REALLY what I am so upset about. At least if they were hot & tasty I would've been happy because it would've been worth the trip and money and all I would've been able to say is they are slow as hell. Last but not least people, did I mention that these patties were so bland? I'm not the best cook in the world so I'm used to eating food here and there that isn't the best tasting but these were not good! The ones that I bought from BJ's last week were much better, so much better! My advice is that there is another shop southward down the road that I have previously frequented and I advise you to go there instead. Lastly, let me add for the management, when you have somebody working in a food establishment with long braids please make them put it up. Watching the young lady bagging the food and keep pushing back her hair that was falling to the front was a bit gross because from where I was I couldn't see what she was touching but could only see her doing something to the food and keep touching her hair with her hand. I didn't bother to discuss any of my issues with management after I left because in my experience frequenting businesses these days people seem to have big attitudes no matter what or how polite you are when you say something to them. For some reason people think that they know everything and you must not say anything although you are a customer that they are servicing. In their head you are nobody and not qualified. I hope they take these comments as constructive criticism and grow and be prosperous because when you know better you should do better.

Maybe it was an off night but I did not find the food authentic at all. I spent over forty dollars on take out of 2 large orders of j*** chicken dinners and actually threw out my portion of the food. Some of the people in my house ate it but did not think it tasted like real j*** chicken (it seemed steamed and not jerked) and the rice with "beans" as opposed to peas was not good. I didn't bother with the collards. I am looking at all these great reviews and have to wonder what these people were served. I cook most of my food at home and only ordered because I had a taste for j*** chicken and most of the restaurants were closed and the one that was opened had such horrible attitudes... I guess I will be making my own j*** chicken going forward.

First time trying this place. The owners are very welcoming and pleasant not like other Jamaican spots you go to and its nothing but attitude. They were very accommodating and greeted you with a smile .I had 2 chicken dinners and I must say flavor flavor flavor!!! in the curry chicken and the j*** chicken.I love the idea of other veggies like the green beans and collards greens to go with my entree. The mac and cheese was also delicious.I will definitely be back!

New restaurant in Baldwin with excellent food and great customer service. Jamaican and Soul food, what a great idea. Today I tried the oxtail and an appetizer. The oxtail was flavored just right and cooked to perfection. I forgot the name of the appetizer. It looked like an eggroll but it was actually Soul food inside. Mac and cheese, collard greens, yams, and turkey, with a side of cranberry sauce. It was like Thanksgiving dinner wrapped up and deep fried. Every thing was great!
