Omg one of the best customer service experience I have ever experienced in a HAITIAN restaurant. USUALLY I don’t like going into haitian stores because of the rudeness , but not this place, I was greeted by pops who took my order and he was just a breath of fresh air ,and amazing , great conversation , I would have ended up buying everything there if I stayed any longer lol ..he wanted me to taste everything .. from KREMAS to a taste of his macaroni .. he wanted me to try everything lol ? .. I Bought some patties and a fish lunch special .. it’s an amazing thing to have a lunch special and still get great quality food .. small fish for 20 dollars was a really good price came with rice and plantain. I love the little piece of lemon they had with my fish , it says they pay attention to little details, even with a lunch special.. my patties were properly coded since I bought a variety of different kinds. I GIVE THEM 10 starts .. food quality was great and flavorful as well. .. can’t post fish pic because by the time I wrote this review I devoured the fish lol.. sorry.

Highly recommend Pops and Poosh. Best Haitian food on Long Island. Family run restaurant, delivers with delicious food. Great vibe. All food is made to order and you can taste the freshness. I have tasted the whole menu and you really can’t go wrong. Patties are so tasty and really packed with filling. 10/10 hands down. You will thank me later.

We were remodeling our kitchen and we were unable to cook .we ordered fish/Acra/ Tassot etc. The dishes came with rice, sauce pois, fried plantains etc. The best food from a" restaurant" . The service is excellent. Not like other Haitian restaurant staff... If I could I would have given them 10 stars. !!!COMPLIMENTS! from Jacques family.02/16/2024.

We were looking for patties on the night of the superbowl and were unable to purchase them anywhere across Long Island. This was our first time calling this location over the phone. They were very pleasant and explained how everything was freshly made and it would take just over 30 minutes to get 3 dozen patties of varying types. Upon arrival we got to speak to the owner ‘Pops’ and he explained about there history and the special spin they take on certain dishes. After conversation we went on to order 2 meals for ourselves consisting of fried snapper and legim. We also got a side of the Mac and cheese which was exceptional and also all freshly made. Though im located in suffolk I do plan to continue to come to this location based on the food quality, employee relationship and overall experience. The patties were also well received by our superbowl party. i would also like to mention all this happened at there closing time (we were literally there last customers.) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I love Haitian food and wanted to try new places so I came over to pops and Poosh mainly to try their patties but decided to get dinner. The food was good but the wait was pretty long (30 minutes). The food provided is not a lot compared to the amount of food that is provided at Good Taste in Cambria Heights for around the same price.

Their food portions are super scarce & isn’t worth the price nor is it for a serving of 2.You pay $9 for akra for 4 small fried pieces of dough. It seems like you get more rice now compared to before & the meat if you order goat or pork is chopped so thinly & fried which totals a single portion of one thigh of chicken put together. To pay $24 for a goat meal & it equivalents to a single piece of chicken like a thigh is ridiculous. They’re price gauging & being greedy & taking advantage of people and their financial pockets let alone Haitain culture. You can go to a hundred Haitain restaurants within the boroughs and you’ll get a separate container of rice and a separate medium or large container of meat that serves 2-3 ppl. Not here at Pops & Poosh which serves in super small containers. Also their Haitain patties are extremely small. Haitain patties are rectangular in shape and flakey. It’s like when they bake their patties they then chop them in 1/2 making them a small square shape, which is what I’m not accustomed to paying for going to every other known Haitain restaurant in NY altogether. Also, for the size of their pattie they make and charge they double the price for a smaller size. Crooked business.Although I will not disagree and say the food isn’t tasty, I just don’t think there worth the price. You have to beg for (sauce) gravy for the rice & they give you a small container which you put ketchup in. That’s also not a “Haitain” tradition. As a business they’re greedy, not decent or fair with their food portions and expensive. Their super small serving containers and portions are ridiculous and quite disappointing let alone overall extremely expensive.& tbh it doesn’t seem like they’re changing there method or listening to the people who are making them live a comfortable lifestyle as they take full advantage of their food portions & prices. I guess they keep having people whom they know whether it’s their family members or friends write these “great reviews” which over powers the negative reviews.Even if you compare them to “Good taste” whom portions are HUGE and for the same price and can actually feed a family or a couple. You have to beg for picklz and beg for sauce and hope they threw in an extra piece of meat.So again, it’s disappointing, disgusting & frustrating black people taking advantage of black people.Lastly, it seems like if you don’t agree to writing a great review… the owners whom are 2 black men (brothers) will send an antagonizing comment or response either sending laughing emojis or some sort or sarcastic response which isn’t remotely professional at all. Yet, you want people to show support.Black people gotta do better!

At the last minute, I decided to bring appetizers to my colleagues for the holiday and couldn't travel all the way to Queens. I stumbled across this takeout place after Googling "Haitian patties near me" (I agree with the other reviewer, though. You could miss this shop if you didn't know it was there. It's in a tiny strip mall with plenty of parking.)A quick phone call to Pops & Poosh confirmed they had a variety of patties ready for pick up - no pre-ordering necessary. Upon entering, I was greeted immediately (love that! ?). After drooling over the menu for a moment, I decided to add a meal to the assortment of patties I'd come for. I settled into a chair to wait thinking it would be a while but my food was ready pretty quickly. When I got to the office, I tasted the vegetable patty. Delicious! AND... this little place sold me the best, most tender/delicious lambi with black rice I've had in a very, VERY long time. That gravy... OMG! The side of mac and cheese was creamy and flavorful. Mm mm mmm! Unfortunately, I only got to try the vegetable patty. I can only imagine that the beef and chicken were just as good or better since there was nothing left for me to taste.I will definitely be back to try other things on the menu. Hallelujah! No more trekking into Queens. I found my go-to spot.Wheelchair accessibility: The interior is a bit tight with a few tables and chairs but the entrance is at street level.
