I've now been here twice and both times have left with a full and happy tummy and tastebuds that were delighted! This is a cute little local cafe with a mishmash of decor that makes it feel so fun and authentically hometown! I am pretty picky when it comes to mac and cheese, but they had quite literally an AMAZING mac and cheese side dish. It just melted in your mouth and was the perfect blend of cheesiness and not bland at all - it was sooo good! Their homemade chips were also incredible - perfectly seasoned and salted and cooked - so good! All the food was equally yummy and the service was wonderful! The waitress, Katie, was so sweet and kind and personable. She knew how to have a conversation and make us feel comfortable, and when there was an issue of them being out of an item - she was so great about it, apologizing and being understanding even though she had no reason to feel bad and we didn't mind at all! It just gave a traditional menu item a new twist! I highly recommend you check out this place! They even have outdoor seating which is super cool!

Charming, family-friendly restaurant with very fresh, house-made food and friendly, prompt service with a smile. Eggs cooked perfectly, pancake with berries was fluffy and tender, turkey sausage was good, and fruit was perfect ripeness! Coffee was very good. Presentation is very nice - wish this boomer had remembered to take pics. This place is a local treasure!

Parking: Parking is plentiful, in the lot, on the street, or the church lot across the street.

I always enjoy my evenings out when we eat at Canal Side. Quaint, lovely place to unwind, and the atmosphere is perfect. Food is always delicious. Waitresses always seem to be smiling. We are willing to travel the distance to eat here. Thank you.

Asked if they have tomato juice, was told they did. Ordered one, it was NOT tomato juice, it was V8, which I do not like at all. Apparently my telling our young waitress this intimidated her, so then an older waitress came over, carrying the rejected juice, and with an attitude asked if we were all set with drinks. Then took our order. My English muffin was barely toasted, to the point that the butter never melted into it. Didn't appreciate the attitude, and will not be back.

Delicious and affordable! Put this on your list of go-to places! Highly recommend the apple crisp pancakes!My son loved the plain pancakes, my other son loved the meat lovers omlette, my husband, big fan of stuffed French toast.. Delicious!
