I always enjoy my evenings out when we eat at Canal Side. Quaint, lovely place to unwind, and the atmosphere is perfect. Food is always delicious. Waitresses always seem to be smiling. We are willing to travel the distance to eat here. Thank you.

Went for Sunday morning breakfast and had all expectations met or exceeded. Food was great tasting and hot. I had the Hobo while my wife had an omelette. Food disappeared very quickly from plates of son, dil and granddaughter. Place was busy but no one seemed to be waiting on orders. Greeted upon entering building and seated almost immediately. Drink orders, delivery and food ordering was fast and accurate. Attention to my coffee cup was great as I was asked on three different occasions if I needed a fill up. I did not feel like the placed was crowded despite all tables being occupied. We only come to the area a few times a year but hope to make this a regular stop when we do. BTW I quit taking photos of my food.

Asked if they have tomato juice, was told they did. Ordered one, it was NOT tomato juice, it was V8, which I do not like at all. Apparently my telling our young waitress this intimidated her, so then an older waitress came over, carrying the rejected juice, and with an attitude asked if we were all set with drinks. Then took our order. My English muffin was barely toasted, to the point that the butter never melted into it. Didn't appreciate the attitude, and will not be back.

Went to lunch here yesterday with my friend. Not my first time here but my first time rating it. They have limited hours so I have to plan it specifically to visit. It was about 12:30 and I wanted breakfast but they stopped serving breakfast at 11:30. So I went with the special which was chili and my friend had the fried haddock. It was quiet only 1 other table occupied. It has a homey atmosphere and our server was very attentive. I had a coffee to drink and it came out in a cute christmassy mug! My chili came out in a large bowl with 2 cute little corn muffins on the side of the bowl and I asked for loaded chili so it had sour cream, onions and parsley. It was very tasty but could have had more heat for me. I didn't ask for hot sauce but I probably should have. My friends fish was golden and just the right amount of breading. She was happy with it. They do charge for add on's and the server didn't tell us her French fries were extra and my little corn muffins and sour cream were extra. The prices were fair so I wasn't too upset about it. Altogether a nice experience.

Delicious and affordable! Put this on your list of go-to places! Highly recommend the apple crisp pancakes!My son loved the plain pancakes, my other son loved the meat lovers omlette, my husband, big fan of stuffed French toast.. Delicious!
