Usually, Sweet Basil is our favorite diner, but this time the food wasnât good, and last time my mother came she said the food wasnât what it used to be. I got the Trenton 9 with a side of hash. The hash had so much grease in it that hash had no texture and was wet tasting. The eggs were decent and the white bread was good. The home fries were really hard and under cooked, ate them with hot sauce to try and help. My bacon was good as well. My momâs rye toast was stale, and her home fries she had a hair. However it will now be a long before we come back but I wish the food would go back to what it was

This is one of those Diners that draws you in . Cozy place in Barnaveld NY with a great breakfast and lunch menu with daily specials . We were there for lunch and had the chicken parm sandwich and the Philly cheesesteak . Be prepared for a large portion that would be easily shared if needed . Great service and atmosphere.

One of the best âgreasy spoonsâ around! Sweet Basil is a fantastic spot for breakfast, with excellent food, a fantastic diner vibe and great service. Thereâs roosters everywhere, counters, walls, cabinets, etc. people have been bringing them in for years. The rye toast was awesome, the hash browns were real, and the coffee as hot!

We visited on a busy Sunday morning when only the cook and 1 waitress were working. We were seated quickly. The food was excellent and came out pretty quick for being short staffed. Would certainly visit again.
