Real Americana!!! The Ambience and Atmosphere inside the restaurant did bring chills to my heart!!! Congratulations to the owners for making my night special!!! Menu has plenty of great food to choose from and the service is amazing and courteous!!! A lot of the local folks spend time together here which makes me feel like home!!! Prices are modest and the portions are adequate.

Nice place to spend quality time with friends and family. Service was slow, as mentioned in several other reviews we read, but the food was good and plentiful. If you're in a hurry, this probably isn't your best choice, but if you have the time, the food here is worth it.

Since having the new cooks , food has been poorly executed, the blue cheese is now awful . The waitresses are very nice on the other hand.

We have eaten here many times. We always get the fish fry when we go. Most of the time, we receive great service. However, there was a time a couple of weeks ago when we received such horrible service that we left a small amount of change for the tip. By the time the waitress got around to getting us salt and pepper and silverware, our food was cold. She left the check before we had even started eating, never refilled our drinks, and then had the nerve to ask if we wanted a to go box and if we were satisfied with our experience. I promptly relayed our experience and dissatisfaction with her service. Having been a server myself, I know what customers expect, and I am a patient woman. However, when I am forced to wait over 15 minutes for salt and pepper shakers and silverware in order to eat our food, I draw the line fast. The young woman apparently thought we looked too poor to leave a good tip, so we were treated in a poor manner. I have always GIFTED my servers well and according to the service I receive. I start at 10%, and it goes up or down accordingly. I do not use conventional means of using the restaurants gratuity charts to determine my gift servers, and I never will. I also do not tip. Instead, I Gift, as Gifts are non taxable. I will not mention the young woman's name. All I will say is that I hope she sees this review and adjusts her service to a more proper manner towards all her customers if she wants to better herself at her job.

Decided to stop here for lunch on our way through town, hadn't been to DJ's since I was a kid...won't waste my time or money there again. The restaurant itself was nice, and it would probably be a great place to hang out & watch some games. Now, on to the food...for starters, it wasn't very busy. There were 3 of us and our orders were simple. We waited at least 45 minutes for our food to come out. We ordered the loaded fries to share with our meals. They had a lackluster appearance, and honestly, it was a small plate for being an appetizer item. They were cold... even the melted cheese on them was cold. We told the waitress who immediately took them back to the kitchen to replace them, or so we thought. When she brought them back, it was obvious they had just put them in the microwave and didn't even bother putting the cup of sour cream back on the plate. Needless to say, we now had mushy loaded fries. My daughter ordered the bacon cheeseburger medium rare. Not the end of the world but, it was overcooked. My mom got the bacon-blue burger which came out as a regular cheeseburger, no blue cheese to be found. The homemade chips that came with them had no salt or seasoning to speak of. I ordered the trash plate with a cheeseburger on top as this is one of my favorite things, and not many places in our area have them. The fries were cold (shocker), the mac salad was good. The cheeseburgers had no cheese and were very overcooked. The meatsauce was more like a chili sauce which isn't my favorite but, everyone makes it different. The only decent thing about this place was the waitress, she did a great job. We didn't send any other food back after the fries as we were afraid we'd never get out of there if we did. Overall, huge disappointment. I guess we should have gone out of our way to go to the other restaurant we had considered...
