Had an AMAZING brunch at Sunflower Cafe. Cannot say enough great things about this restaurant! Our server, Cayla, was fabulous, every suggestion she made was on point and she was so friendly and attentive. Met the owner, who stopped by and chatted with us, this is a family run business and everything including the delicious desserts are made on premises. I can’t wait to go back for dinner, it is quite a ride for me but well worth the trip! This place will NOT disappoint!!

What a delightful place! We had Soleil au Gratin and the lump crab cakes: full flavor and elegantly presented. Sunflower Cafe offers a nice wine list and I had a couple of great mocktails. For dessert, orange creme brulee and Sacher torte: delicious! The atmosphere is calm, cordial, chic. Highly recommended!!!!

What a delight! Everything about Sunflower Cafe far exceeded our expectations. The service was polite, thoughtful, and efficient. The atmosphere is charming and not overly loud. The FOOD was AMAZING. I took my father, who said the French Onion Soup was the best he's ever had (and the man LOVES French Onion Soup!) I started with a cup of the butternut squash soup and I thought very seriously about licking the bowl when I finished. He had filet mignon for his entree and I had the braised short rib which was on the specials menu. Both were phenomenal; the short rib was fork tender and the mashed potatoes and ratatouille that came with it were unbelievable. My only regret was that we ate every bite and left no room for dessert! Next time! Stacey & her family have created a warm, beautiful environment with some truly spectacular food.

Dining at Sunflower Café was like being transported straight to France, it felt like stepping into a cozy family kitchen filled with warmth, charm, and incredible food. I called ahead to let them know I was vegan, and they couldn’t have been more accommodating. When I arrived, they surprised me with a separate printed vegan menu featuring three appetizers and three entrées — all creative, thoughtful, and clearly made with care.
I ordered the truffle oyster mushroom fettuccine with cannellini beans and mixed veggies — rich, flavorful, and so hearty. For my appetizer, I had the roasted tomato canopé with roasted garlic, which was absolutely divine. Even the drinks were spot on!
What made the evening extra special was the personal touch — the owners/chef came out at the end of the meal to chat with every table. They told me they loved having a vegan guest because it inspired them to experiment with new recipes — can you imagine?! Most places treat vegan options like an afterthought, but here I felt celebrated. They even said to call ahead next time so they can create something new.
My friends ordered the classic steak frites, and all three steaks were cooked perfectly (medium, medium-rare, and rare). They couldn’t stop talking about the au poivre sauce, which they said was outstanding.
Thank you, Sunflower Café, for making our evening unforgettable. I can’t wait to come back — this place is truly a gem for vegans and non-vegans alike!

The best food! The ambiance is exquisite and the service is impeccable. I have dined here quite a few times, and every meal has been exemplary! I have dietary restrictions and they are very accommodating! Desserts are made in house and are of the utmost perfection! Authentic French flavors and a true Parisian bistro feel! Last night had Cherry brandy chicken and a creamy pistachio pan a cotta for dessert that was the most satisfying dessert I’ve ever had.

We met these lovely ladies and amazing food atvthw apple festival. We bought bacon quiche and lingerie tarts. Fresh, full of flavor and delicious. The tarts were soft to chew and filled with raspberry goodness. The restaurant has brunch on weekends.and worth the trip into Bayport.

Since my discovery of this very enchanting French cuisine restaurant ; everyone that comes out to visit me I take there for the very well curated and delicious menu they have on offer each time. I have tried almost everything so far ; what I love the most about this restaurant is I would never in my life eat frog legs until Sunflower Cafe! Stacey Hansen is the only person that has changed that . Stacey and her business partner Katherine have enabled me to broaden my food palate to the point I take every opportunity to go and enjoy the ambience and my company . I have celebrated my birthday twice there and my mother’s. This is a place you leave with your appetite and taste buds thoroughly satisfied. I am an absolute fan of Stacey , Katherine and this beautiful experience they have created .

We dined here, once again, this time for a birthday celebration. It was a pleasant experience; the presentation of our food was appealing. My Shrimp Risotto was good (a little more asparagus would have been great). Overall, we enjoyed dining here and will return. Several tables were occupied, and it wasn't easy, a couple of times, to get our waitress's attention. Catherine is cordial, and the waitresses were pleasant as well.
So I went here for lunch 2 weeks ago with my friend and the food was just delicious .. It's my bday tomorrow and I told my husband i'm making a reservation here being they are closed on Mondays ! We took our son with us tonight and let me tell you from the baked mac n cheese to the escargot and beet salad to my phenomenal tasting halibut and husbands duck stew dish, It was beyond delicious & the waitress Cayla was such a doll and very attentive! The family ( mom - Stace and daughter Katherine) came out to sing happy birthday to me which was so sweet and they all made this night such a special one as they are the sweetest as well! Stop by & visit this delightful and delicious family owned restaurant! You won't be sorry and Oh their bakery is amazing too !!Ty Ty again, see you soon!
