Ice cream is good but that fat Battleaxe that works here is super rude. Complains if you use her garbage. Refuses to give you multiple flavors in same cone claiming “cross contamination”- Every other Ice cream place manages to do it but she can’t seem to figure it out. Hates her life and is in severe need of mental health treatment.

Kind of an oddball place—a family-owned motel with just five rooms in a VERY small town. Check-in in summer can be difficult; you have to go to an ice cream stand that may be quite busy. But once you're in it's quite nice. The rooms are in back of the office and the ice cream stand, so they're very quiet, and there's a lovely little garden. Rooms are older, but everything worked fine. I might add that on summer weekends this place is a lot cheaper than other motels in central New York state.

The ice cream was amazing. But when we went to use the wash room the door was locked. The lady was by the window eating cheese and crackers on her phone. We knocked on the window to get her attention but she looked up them immediately went back on her phone ignoring us. We knocked on the door for almost 5 minutes strait but she would still ignore us. We then had to go home with sticky faced children in the back. We had come here many times before and usually the door is unlocked but not all the time.
Decent sized room. Older furnishings but whatever, they got the job done. Softest mattress I have ever slept on. The wife was asleep 2 minutes after she lay on it. Dont forget to grab the wifi password while you are checking in Will stayhere again

I was exposed to Covid and could not stay at Oakes Inn as planned due to having to isolate where I was. No consideration was shown by Orbitz for this situation. I was charged for the room, as I learned of my exposure after the 48 he.period was past when I canceled the reservation. I didn't have any control over when the Covid exposure occured. I feel some allowance for this should've been made for this special circumstance.
