Absolutely the best halal cart in the area. Plenty of parking to wait for the food. chicken is well seasoned. Both brothers working in the cart are very friendly. I always get extra meat for $2 extra, not really on the menu, but they should make that official option. I highly recommend

Sahara Grill is, without a doubt, the best halal food cart here in Hillside, Queens! I’ve been coming here to try all the carts for over 10 years, and I can confidently say that no other cart in the area comes close. There are three other halal carts around, but they simply don’t measure up. The difference is clear – while those other spots have rude staff and serve chicken over rice that often lacks flavor or even smells off, Sahara Grill gets everything just right. Every time I come here, I know I’m getting quality food made with care.
The chicken over rice at Sahara Grill is amazing – it’s packed with flavor, the spices are perfectly balanced, and you can tell it’s fresh with every bite. They give generous portions, too, so you really feel like you’re getting great value for your money. The rice is fluffy, the chicken is juicy, and everything is topped off with just the right amount of sauce. It’s a simple meal, but they make it so well that it stands out.
On my last visit, Hicham, who was working the cart, was incredibly kind and helpful. He made sure my order was exactly how I wanted it and took the time to make me feel valued as a customer. His friendliness and attention to detail really made the experience special. I ordered two chicken over rices, and they were both amazing – just as flavorful and fresh as always.
The only downside? This spot doesn’t seem to get as much attention as it deserves. I rarely see many other customers, which is a shame because this place is a true find. If you’re in Queens and craving some amazing halal food, don’t waste your time anywhere else. Sahara Grill is the place to go – highly recommend it!
Parking: One of the best things about Sahara Grill is the convenience of the parking. There’s a large, spacious parking lot right next to the cart, so finding a spot is never an issue. It’s easy to pull in, park, and enjoy your food without any hassle. The big parking lot makes it super accessible, even during busier times, which is a huge plus compared to some of the other crowded spots in the area.
Great guy, ask for the Moroccoan chef, he makes some special with the ingredients that he adds.

I really feel bad leaving a good rating for this cart because I really enjoyed not having to wait in line to have some of the best lamb I've had at a halal cart and the rice is amazing on its own. It is a humble cart so your toppings are standard but that's a good thing. Come here for the meat and rice. The chicken is awesome as well.

We drive all the way from long Island to get our Halal food here. It is very authentic. It is soooooo good and now the kids have a tradition that after every road trip we stop here for food before heading home. The young man is very nice and courteous. His truck is clean. Would recommend.

Ever since halal carts started raising their prices, their portions have also gotten smaller.This cart will remind you of the old days when they had trouble closing the lid because there was so much food.The meat is delicious and the sauces are savory.

The food is delicious! The guy working there is so kind and knows me well now because I used to get my lunch/dinner from him almost everyday after work? the chicken over rice and kabab over rice were the best part of my work day!
They says it’s open 24 hour . But when I get there they says it’s closed until 9 am . I understand they need break sometimes but it shouldn’t says online it’s open 24 hour .. wasted my time driving there . Disappointed!!

Would not recommend anyone come here. Ordered chicken over rice on 3/14/2022 at around 8 pm and the person working there for no reason starts rambling about how he helps the homeless all while calling me slurs and threatening me. He then went on to leave his cart and attack my car as im leaving. This type of person should not be handling food.
