Second Michael D's review. This used to be our favorite Chinese restaurant in the area, from Corning to Elmira. Unfortunately the last couple of times the food has really taken a turn for the worse. Undercooked food, gloopy messes, and the taste is not even close to the same. It's a shame because they had very flavorful, well seasoned dishes unlike a lot of the overly bland Chinese take-out in the area. We'll be on the hunt for a new go-to takeout place.

Some of their food is great, some not so much. I think their Mei Fun noodles are spaghetti. Don't quote me on that, but I'm pretty sure. If I had another Chinese restaurant near me, I'd probably trade up, but they are literally just down the road.

Portion sizes TOOO BIG. Mmm egg rolls, don't forget the duck sauce not the worst egg roll. crab Rangoon's AMAZING. Chicken veggie was delicious kung pal chicken was pretty good I wish it was more spicy. Quick service great ambience!

I have eaten Chinese food at every place in Elmira and a few in Corning and HANDS DOWN Shanghai express has the BEST food for this type around.You can't beat it I promise.
I dislike writing a bad review, however be forewarned. We have ordered here before, and the quality is declining with each visit. This is my last visit. The sauce was watered down, the General Tsos chicken was soggy, not well cooked. Lack of spice in everything we ordered. The crab Rangoon was way too sweet, more like a dessert. VERY DISAPPOINTING.

Personal opinion (best Chinese fast food in the area) you can go in and sit, but don't, just order ahead pick your food up and go home and eat. The staff isn't overly friendly, but you go for the food and it's ready in less than 10mins.
