Made a stop in Binghamton on the way through. We liked Chroma from before, and wanted to see it after the recent reopening. Ended up waiting about an hour for them to come back (sign said 15min) and luckily we just caught them before giving up... Glad we did. The Bahn mi sandwich was fantastic... We like the chicken Parm sandwich as well, but the Bahn mi was definitely our favorite of the two, and would get that again in the future.
I was very disappointed with my breakfast this morning. I was told the kitchen was closed, so I ordered a cinnamon roll from behind a display. Being this is a bakery I expected a fresh, moist roll. What i got was dry as sand paper. My two-star rating overall and four star service rating is due to the young lady behind the counter, the only employee in the place at the time.
Amazing and quiet place for meeting friends or working. They are super friendly and sweet, they have good dessert options, and of course, they have sandwiches. Highly recommend it

EDIT: This review is recent after the reopening/ new management.

I used to love this place for its coffee, sandwiches, and early hours. This isn't the same anymore. I visited twice in November and now in May, and they still don't have any espresso drinks. I thought this might be temporary in November, but it seems not. They only have a drip coffee that is mostly cold. The pastries are also limited and are no longer the same delicious treats, and most of the trays are empty.
It is difficult to make plans for breakfast or invite others for food as the kitchen is not available until noon. It isn't even announced or written; you know when you are inside. The only thing that was the same was the friendly hosts. They are always nice and welcoming.
I wish them luck, but I don't think it will be an option for me anymore.
Got a cupcake and it was so dry and heavy :(
The pastries are fresh, they are rich, and most importantly consistent.
I feel welcomed and appreciated by the staff, who offer exceptional customer service. When you have questions, they are very patient and helpful.
This place is worth going downtown for!
Most times I come here they're out of something and what I am able to get is iffy. I ordered a chicken parm once since the reopening and it was hard? It felt like I was eating jerky with burnt sauce on a bun. Idk if i got an old one or what. Last time I was there I asked for a toasted bagel with *extra* cream cheese. The guy came out with a bagel that had bare patches and the thinnest spread of cream cheese I've ever seen. It was barely toasted too. They're super nice but I always feel cheated when I spend my money there. They need to go back to the paninis, I felt like I actually got my money's worth with those and the food quality was actually consistent.
Also, I feel like the Google reviews and rating are deceiving bc they inherited a reputation from the previous owners even though it's practically a different business entirely. And most of the reviews are from years ago
Great place to relax, great food!
So excited for the soft reopening!!! Wishing the new owner & crew best of luck. They’re super friendly, my coffee tasted great, the raspberry scone was amazing, and downtown Binghamton needs their relaxed brand of chic back. Thanks guys!

I had the baked French toast, and it was delicious ? I highly recommend ?
During my last few days in Binghamton I went to Chroma for lunch and got a panini. Not gonna lie it smacked. So good. If you’re looking for a pastry or a sandwich I recommend this spot
Bad coffee, not that many pastries, not pets friendly
