Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

I do recommend Cracker Barrel, but my dinner last night was subpar. I ordered the country vegetable plate (baked potato, carrots, broccoli, applesauce). Broccoli was very undercooked, in fact one stem was actually cold. Baked potato was rotten and mostly black inside, they did give me another one after I showed the waitress. It seems like the food quality has gone down at the Binghamton restaurant recently. The waitress was wonderful and the other staff we interacted with were all very nice.

We always go to Cracker Barrel that is our halfway place when I want to meet up with family, but 5/10/25 was beyond poor. Our Disappointing Experience at Cracker Barrel We recently dined at Cracker Barrel, hoping for a relaxing and enjoyable meal—but unfortunately, the experience left us frustrated and disappointed. It began when we were told 15 minutes after ordering that the French Toast Bake was no longer available. Additionally, they had run out of blueberries, which impacted another part of our order. When our food finally arrived, the dishes were on the wrong plates, and we had to swap them ourselves at the table just to sort out who got what. The issues didn’t stop there. The gravy was incorrect and had to be taken back. My husband’s rice was completely uncooked—it sounded like it came straight out of the package when it hit the plate. It was not just undercooked; it was inedible. On top of the food problems, the service was equally lacking. We couldn’t get a coffee refill despite asking several times. Each time we voiced a concern, we were met with a brief “sorry,” but no action or effort to correct the problems. After multiple failed attempts to get at least a cup of coffee, we left. With Mother’s Day coming up, I genuinely worry about how the staff will manage if food is unavailable, undercooked, or if guests are met with the same lack of empathy and responsiveness. Hospitality should be at the heart of the Cracker Barrel experience, but on this visit, it was nowhere to be found.

First time ever at a Cracker Barrel and 100% can’t wait to come back.

Our food was brought to us and my food and my wife's food was under cooked. They took my food back to finish cooking it and the sides on my plate were ice cold and the server never offered anything for the inconvenience. I feel like the meal was not worth the amount we had to pay. I am very disappointed about this visit. We have never had any complaints until now.

Almost invariably my experience at the Binghamton location is excellent. There are multiple amazing servers - my go-to list includes Madison, Holly, Heidi, Paula and Cheryl. On this visit, Paula delivered her usual very attentive service, with perfect attention to detail. She helped me recreate a menu item long since removed from the menu, and it was outstanding.
