Review revisited, now with more photographic proof of awesomeness. Good vibes and good food - can't ask for anything better.

I must say, I'm a sucker for all the different sauces, particularly the mojito sauce and the mango/ghost pepper sauce. Recommend liberally drowning your food in them.

Their food is outstanding and the couple running the whole show are awesome. The guarapita is so good and I only wish they would move to my town, Hancock. I’d be a daily consumer.

I had this place recommended by a friend and it did not disappoint. The owners were friendly and the food was fantastic. You’re doing yourself a disservice if you haven’t been here yet.

Never felt more unwelcome….
Didn’t get a chance to eat because our server didn’t care to even bother with us. We entered as the only group in the restaurant and weren’t even greeted with a hello, our drink order was taken with an attitude but after 5 minutes another customer walked in and was greeted very well and had received their drinks before us. My husband decided to leave because we felt unwanted as our drinks sat on the bar while he kept chatting and laughing with the other customer. Btw a fly kept landing on us very uncomfortable, sad we really wanted to try arrepas and support our Spanish community oh well I hope you have a better experience then us. We will never step foot inside a place where we would feel uncomfortable.

I was genuinely blown away by how authentically amazing this food was! I still want to travel to Venezuela for the experience but in the mean time, I’ll go eat at Happy Pappi’s. I would eat this food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I just had the Arepas today and I want to go back tomorrow. 5/5 stars plus a few extra points. Wow!

Don’t be dissuaded by the exterior- Happy Pappi offers awesome food and drinks in a friendly, clean, casual setting. This place would be killing it downtown, but instead it’s a hidden gem over the tracks, away from the hordes of college kids. Highly recommended.

I went there for the first time today with a coworker who is a frequent flyer. I had never heard of arepas and the owner was excellent in describing everything and offering suggestions. The food was fantastic and I look forward to ordering from this business as much as I can. Definitely recommend.

This place is my only real experience with arepas, and I think they have spoiled me... I have a hard time imagining any better than these! The flavors and textures of the fillings and the various sauces are so delicious. Not "spicy" so much as very flavorful. I have had the paella (YUM) and have been meaning to get down there for their weekend specials. If you live or work downtown, it's a great spot for a delicious, filling, affordable, and fast lunch and/or dinner! The music selection is always on point, too. They also own a food truck that serves food on location regionally, which is how I found them in the first place. Catch em if you can. Highly recommend!

Dietary restrictions: Arepas are naturally gluten-free & corn-based. I believe almost everything on the menu is gluten free except the "mojito" sauce. Dairy free as well if you request no cheese. Delicious!

Owner explained how he cooks with flavor and not making the dishes too hot with spices. My husband and I had the same dish and made it a Happy Dish. Loved it! Had the dessert too which we shared. Nice little eatery that is intimate. Will be back.
