Busy Local Diner with Good Burgers and Solid Breakfast Plates

We stopped in at Jane’s Diner recently and had a really good experience overall. When we arrived the place was clearly busy, which is usually a good sign. Even with the crowd we were still able to get a table without too much trouble, which made for a nice start.

We ordered a few different things to get a feel for the menu. The steak and eggs were cooked exactly as ordered. Steak at a diner can sometimes be hit or miss, but this one came out right and had good flavor. It’s a simple meal, but when it’s done properly it really works.

The mushroom Swiss burger was probably the best value of everything we ordered. It was filling, flavorful, and the mushrooms and Swiss worked really well together. The portion felt fair for the price and it’s something I would definitely order again.

We also tried the prime rib. I’d describe it as about average for a diner or casual restaurant, but still very tasty and satisfying. It’s nice to see it offered on the menu and it definitely made for a hearty meal.

One small detail that stood out to me was the fries. They were cooked just the way I like them — crispy but not overly crunchy or dried out. It sounds like a small thing, but when fries are done right it really completes the meal.

The atmosphere felt very relaxed and family friendly. There were several families there with kids and everyone seemed comfortable and having a good time. The children that were there were well behaved and the whole place had that classic casual diner feel where people can just sit down and enjoy a meal.

The only slightly awkward part of the experience was the register being located right at the entrance. When the diner is busy it creates a bit of a bottleneck with people coming in, people leaving, and others waiting to pay. It’s not a big issue, just a little crowded in that one spot.

One thing I noticed while we were there was that people kept coming in steadily the whole time we were eating, which usually tells you the place has a good reputation with locals.

Overall, Jane’s Diner feels like exactly what a good local diner should be — good comfort food, fair prices, and a relaxed atmosphere where families and locals can sit down and enjoy a meal. I’d definitely stop in again.

When I say these were the best home fries I've ever had in a diner, I am not lying! They were perfect. Fresh bun for the breakfast Sandwich, lightly toasted on the griddle, and got an extra sausage patty (I'm only used to 1 per sandwich!) felt like a local, because all the folks sitting down knew one another by name. Great spot, will visit again soon! Highly recommend

Service was ok, they're in the process of training a new waiter. I feel the food is ok, I think it has diminished from previous years. But locals all flock here, so it's probably just me that is off.

Love this diner. We went with family for dinner and I had the Yankee pot roast. It was so delicious and the mashed potatoes and gravy were awesome. The hot turkey sandwiches were piled high with turkey and gravy. The buffalo chicken salad looked so substantial and was delicious too. I also went back for breakfast during my weeklong visit and really enjoyed the breakfast sandwich with scrambled eggs, cheese, and 2 sausage patties. Yummy! Thanks Tina, you can tell you are an owner that cares! You get a great meal for a great price. Highly recommend!

Told the waitress about it as she brought us our check because she hadnt been back once she gave us our food and extra napkins. As i told her she said she get us hot ones bit too late we were all done. when i went to pay i told owner and she asked me if i told my waitress proceeded to tell her and she sarcastically said "I dont know why there not warm as warm as it is in the kitchen Great answer. Last trip there.

Basic Diner. Had breakfast. We didn't like the fact that the bacon was the pre-made bacon with extremely thin pieces. Potatoes were a bit undercooked and served cold. omelets were just OK and nothing special. first cup of coffee was cold.
