Subject: Formal Complaint – Substandard Food & Service, Request for Resolution

Dear McDonald’s Customer Service Team,

I am submitting this formal complaint regarding a serious lapse in food quality, customer service, and managerial misconduct at one of your locations.
While traveling from Florida to Canada, we stopped at this restaurant and ordered a Big Mac meal, a hamburger, and an apple pie. The food was cold, poorly prepared, and in unacceptable condition—the Big Mac appeared as though it had been dropped, and the buns were dry and hard. Upon requesting a replacement, the second burger was delivered in an even worse state, with condiments intentionally smeared across the wrapper.

The situation escalated further when we approached the on-duty manager to request a full refund. Not only did she refuse the request without cause, but she also used abusive language and then evaded accountability by refusing to provide her name before running to the back of the restaurant. This behavior is highly unprofessional and raises concerns about McDonald’s corporate training standards.

Despite my formal complaint to McDonald’s USA, I have received no resolution. Instead, my case was redirected to the same restaurant with no follow-up. This response is wholly inadequate, and I am escalating this matter under consumer protection laws.

Under consumer rights and food safety regulations, McDonald’s has an obligation to:
• Serve food that meets basic quality and safety standards.
• Maintain professional customer service, including a transparent complaint resolution process.
• Ensure managerial accountability, especially in cases involving alleged misconduct.

Given the clear failure to uphold these standards, I am requesting the following immediate actions:
1. A full refund of $14.01 for the substandard meal.
2. A formal written response detailing how McDonald’s intends to address this food quality failure and management misconduct.
3. Clarification on McDonald’s customer complaint resolution process to ensure that future issues are not ignored.

If no resolution is provided within seven (7) business days, I will be left with no choice but to escalate this matter to consumer protection agencies and relevant food safety authorities.

I expect a timely and professional response.

Absolutely filthy bathroom. Your shoes will stick to the floor. There is no toilet paper. The toilets are always filthy. The baby changing station is permanently broken. There are scrapes and graffiti everywhere. It’s so disgusting.

Food is just like every other McDonald’s. Greasy overloaded bs slapped between two stale buns. However the service is unbelievably slow. Waited an hour in the curbside they told me to pull into only to have a then melted grandma McFlurry and the runner was laughing like something was funny. If I were her I’d be more nervous as to handing someone their cold food and melted ice cream. It’s obvious we were waiting forever for nothing. Then let’s go to how many times I’ve ordered and received missing items. Usually I don’t care but when it’s constant it’s an issue. Sloppy, lazy, and quite gross appearaing staff. Whoever is the district manager of this establishment needs to be fired as well. Who allows their restaurant to run at such low standards?

Evening visits result is slow service, incorrect food orders and sometimes the burgers are not fully cooked. Evening staff seems not to care about the customers or the food that the produce.

It took over 10 minutes to get my food inside, and at the drive thru the 2 times I went, the service of the employees is very poor they don't have a friendly attitude they don't seem pleasant they made me late for work because they took so long to get my food

we only waited in line behind five other cars that never moved for 10 minutes. When we bypassed the line we pulled up to an empty drive through window and they would not even acknowledge us. The absolute worst behavior and customer service ever at a Mc Donald’s

This McDonalds location is one of the worse place to order food and it is drastically slow for some reason. I’ve visited and ordered through the franchise a dozen times and the wait time is between 15-25 minutes (even if there’s only 1-3 vehicles in line). Beats the purpose of calling it “fast food” and I don’t know what the problem is but management and leadership needs to check the employees or status of the operation.

It’s not the best facility for service and I’ve smelled the scent of drugs in the area which doesn’t feel like a safe area. Please look into the employees, ordering process and find out why it takes so long from pulling up to receiving the food. Thank you for the time and consideration.
