Excellent service, but my aged steak was nothing extraordinary and overpriced relative to the value in my view. French onion soup was acceptable, but a disappointment for a restaurant with No. 5s history. For around $100 a head, you would expect better.

In a word...wonderful. We're in Binghamton on a convention and friends told us to try Number 5 Restaurant... I am so glad we did. It's a short easy drive from the hotel and there is plenty of parking in the lot behind the restaurant. From the second we walked in I knew this was going to be a great evening. An institution. Jim and staff are wonderful. Have been celebrating special occasions there since I was in college in the mid 1980s. We celebrated our oldest son's 21 birthday in the same place we celebrated my wife's 21st birthday. Always a great meal and great service. Selfishly, I hope it stays open long enough to celebrate my youngest son's 21st birthday in a few years. Binghamton is where my family goes to college
