Decided to try River Bistro for Restaurant Week as an alternative to Remlick’s (across the river) and were thoroughly disappointed.

The River Bistro (inside Double Tree hotel) is severely under staffed both front and back of house. So we had to wait for 10 minutes to get a table and over 40 mins to get our food (remember this is the set menu for Restaurant Week for $35 each). Server did not check in on us/set expectations. We ordered a side of fries which also took over 40 mins. Server blamed kitchen saying it was backed up but all the food that came out was cold! And the seating was not even at half capacity.

The first time we raised the lack of service, server’s attitude was ‘this is just the way it is’. We pushed back saying this is NOT normal. Then server suddenly became apologetic, offered to go in to kitchen and make our food herself (???). Server did take a few dollars off the bill but it was a wasted effort.

Restaurant week menu sounded really good but it was just ok overall- appetizer was ok, main was good, dessert was terrible.

Will not be returning.

Most of the food are good, I only went here twice, not a busy place, but the waiting time it’s a little slow consider how slow the place is. I still recommend this place though.

We were very pleasantly surprised by our delicious dinner this evening. One never knows if a restaurant inside a hotel will be good. All four of us (two adults and two teens) enjoyed our dinners and even stayed for yummy desserts. It was a wide enough variety to please everyone and the service was great.

I enjoyed sitting at the bar for an early dinner last night. The IPA beer I had (green alligator draft handle) was quite nice. The food was okay and not anything to rave about … I ordered the Brussel Sprouts Appetizer and the Bartender was kind and took it away and off my bill. The Brussel Sprouts were grossly overcooked to the point of mushiness. The main course I ordered was a Bistro Bowl, Pineapple Fajita which didn’t have any pineapple in any quantity. The grilled flank steak was overcooked but still flavorful … over all this dish was tasty even with the shortfalls. I would eat there again and be very specific with whoever is taking the order on how I want my food prepared. I took a slice of their chocolate cake home and it was the best. Give the River Bistro a try … you will enjoy the atmosphere and the food is above average which is terrific. LIVE LOVE LAUGH ALWAYS … ????

Fun after concert gathering. Reasonable draft beer prices. Bar food was good, got the sampler platter, except skip the fried Brussel sprouts. I ordinarily like them, but not coated and deep fried. A soggy mess.

I had a delightful dining experience with the dinner I ordered from the River Bistro. The Chicken Caesar wrap and the spring rolls were absolutely delicious. The wrap was perfectly seasoned, and the chicken was tender and flavorful. The spring rolls were crispy and filled with a tasty combination of ingredients. The presentation was impeccable, and the delivery service was prompt. I would highly recommend these dishes to anyone staying at the hotel. It truly added to the enjoyment of my stay

Surprisingly good for a hotel restaurant. The chef obviously cares and works at creating good meals. We’ve eaten dinner here twice, and the restaurant was never more than 25% full.

Wow the worst food ever in my life.So salty. Flavor is weird. I think the cook is picked up from the street.Avoid this place at all

It was fine. The food was generous and tasted fine. Nothing really blew me away. I was staying at the hotel and was given a 15% off coupon, but the coupon wasn't used by my server, and I'm not exactly sure why. I had it out right on the table but it was ignored so... Not sure, what happened there. I probably should have spoken up and asked, but the meal didn't cost that much so I just let it go. I found it odd that they had specials on the board outside the restaurant, but even though it was only Wednesday, they were already out of things that were still advertised. I would have liked a larger wine list.Breakfast was very good. I chose to order off of the menu instead of the buffet and really enjoyed the breakfast sandwich. The egg was cooked perfectly and the home fries were fine. All in all, I would eat here again if staying at the hotel for breakfast, but I might explore some of the other places in downtown Binghamton for dinner.

Food was good but the service was very slow. Maybe 10 customers were there.

Drinks were pretty good. Food menu was unexciting though and decided against eating here.
