I'm a visitor to binghamton and I was looking for good food. I went to what I thought was Social on state (that's what the door said). Apparently it is really The Kitchen Counter, a local food truck that has parked here for the winter (per the server). Either way, the food was delicious. I had the chicken pesto with a glass of reisling and the tiramisu cake. The server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The decor is modern. I'd come again if I lived...
My partner and I decided to try out Social on State last night for dinner while she was in the area. I liked the atmosphere of the restaurant. The bar looked really organized and clean and it was quite nice. It was pretty full so I assumed it to be promising; thankfully we had made reservations. The hostess was friendly with us and so was our waitress. We ordered the bread & dips, mac and cheese, brussels sprouts and the spicy tuna tower. We also ordered a glass of chardonnay...
Absolutely worth the stop. This is the best date night restaurant we’ve found in the area by far; the food was excellent and fairly reasonably priced. Service on our visit was just ok, but I think she was pretty new at this and will get better.
