All around just won't come again. I tried it at least once a year for a few years straight now and they can't get an order straight. It's never packed when I have dined in. They have a tendency to forget your drinks, and make your order incorrectly. When you try to correct the order, you're asked; " Oh, do you not get this often? " over something as simple as eggs benedict. Let alone not to mention how they cant remember what you got to drink with your meal. So annoying when you're just sitting there with nothing going on its awkward as all hell. Will not be returning next year or likely ever again because they are just a let down every time I come in...
We had a table of 4 people. We waited over 30 minutes for our coffee and juice. Each breakfast came out wrong. The home fries tasted like they were just boiled, no flavor, no color on em - they never touched a grill. The sausage grave was horrible ?!!! The eggs benedict had a slice of ham cut in half, not even Canadian bacon. For the prices they charge, they should be ashamed of the food being served. There are too many diners in the area to ever go here again.
Service was terrible. The food was overpriced and terrible. I ordered my steak medium and it came out well done and it looked like it been sitting under the heat lamp a while. The mashed potatoes were runny and cold. My husband's 1/4 of corn on the cob was all dried up like it had been sitting around. Every time I complained I got an excuse of how they were short-handed. I did get a discount on the food but we still paid $58 for that slop. Never going back!! Definitely not the Spot diner I remember from the past...and the placed smelled like rotting fish.
I dislike giving bad reviews but this was a shock .I never would have imagined they literally have done nothing to improve the outside or inside since 70s Your talking ugly and old . Even if the food was good I would give the decor a pass but . Basically the plates were small The open face Turkey gravy was awful Presentation terrible Waitress nice but must been new or stoned . Staff eating with a spoon behind counter out of an ice cream bin Larger female manager carrying on in conversations with 3 non customers on counter wrestling with 1 at the counter The best thing they have is their desserts but we were so disgusted by then we left Sorry but pass on this place closes at 9 Place needs a remodel or close
Classic diner feel. Everything you could think of on the menu. Chicken tenders were what I refer to as the "cheap kind" but the fries were good and the chocolate milk was absolutely delicious. Nice atmosphere on a Sunday afternoon and the waitress was super nice.
Good old home town diner/restaurant that has been open for ages. Specializes in Greek food and American diner classics but they also serve upscale dishes and pastries as well. They used to be a lot busier and open 24 hours a day. However I'm sure covid made being open 24 hours a day virtually impossible and so they made some changes in order to make sure this little piece of history stayed open. I recommend breakfast for sure and they serve it all day. Some of their menu items like the upscale dishes I mentioned above have been hit or miss over the past year for me anyways. However you can never go wrong with their soups, sandwiches and their more popular greek dishes and most of their daily specials. I used to love the desserts here. I came every Sunday with my grandmother for breakfast and a desert. However do to less foot traffic I believe some pastries sit for awhile in the display case or are made and then frozen to continue to deliver on the variety they once had. Their Baklava used to be my favorite thing in the world but the past few times it wasnt the same for me. That and the cookie monsters they have. They were stale when i orders them for my kids last. Again its hit or miss. I wish they were able to cut down on the amount of items they serve and just do their top 20 best sellers from the menu and maybe top 10 deserts and just do it with better quality. However I'm sure it is hard to change anything here and risk losing any of their regular customers who have favorites that probably date back to when they first opened. The spot always has been a neighborhood staple/treasure and if you are new to the area or visiting you really should head down and step into the past to support these lovely folks. Good service, Good food, Good people. Support local!
If you're looking for a proper diner this is the place you're looking for! The food is always fresh and hot and the staff are so kind. We go here all the time and our kids love it too.
Vegetarian options: The black bean burger is very tasty and huge!
Parking: Electric vehicle charging station
I used to eat here about once per month, when I traveled for my job. I recently needed a place for a group of 18 people to have lunch, on a Saturday afternoon. I thought of the Spot Diner, but had read some negative reviews and was reluctant. I had always enjoyed eating there, but hadn't been there in over a year. Fortunately, one of our group eats there frequently and advised me to ignore the negative reviews, as most customers who are happy don't leave reviews. I am glad I took his advice, as we all enjoyed eating there. The service couldn't have been better, and the food was great. I don't know how they managed to serve all 18 meals at the same time, but they did. There was so much that most of us ended up taking food home. I was surprised that they even had gluten free buns, for my hamburger. It tasted so good that I bought some to take home with me. I am not the type of person who normally spends time writing reviews, but when people do a great job, they should be acknowledged for it.
This hasn't improved since the last review. Ice tea was like dishwater, soup had no taste, gyro made with chicken. The booth was a depressing place to eat. We will never go back there again.
I don't want to give a bad review off of a bad experince. Came after work and it was not busy at all but service was slower then molasses, staff are friendly but not very attentive. Never got a refill on my drink, and in this heat...I got the mousakka, I have had authentic Greek food before and their's was like a 3/10. I don't know if it was the texture of the eggplant or the flavor of the ground meat. Something was off and I ended up in the bathroom.I will return though, as it might have been my stomach with this heat, and I will get something different next time. I have been told their desserts are top dog.Lots of parking. Wait to be seated. And you have to get up and go towards the front door to pay (for anyone who has social anxiety)Prices aren't too bad. Took picture of menu for anyone ?Don't let my bad experince tetour you from going.

Never going back...the bathrooms, the booth lighting, the floors were filthy! Got our food and the sides we ordered came out cold. It took the hostess awhile to tear herself from chatting with the counter waitress...and it was not busy at the time. We used to go there when we were younger and enjoyed it...maybe new management took over....
The Spot is a classic diner great for breakfast. Amazing omelets and home fries. Lunch options are good too, had the gyro with fries. Definitely not a dinner place. The service and quality goes down hill fast. Ordered an unsweetened tea with dinner and it was sour, told the waitress and she didn't care, told the hostess with the same result. Then I was charged for it.
Superior diner food, always cooked to order. Great family spot, super friendly staff. Usually busy no matter time of day or day of the week. Not fancy but sincere. Amazing desserts and a fruit bowl substitute available for homefries. A local favorite and a must go-to. ?
I was pleasantly surprised at the diversity of the menu. There were a lot of ethnic Greek dishes that caught my eye. My friend and I shared the mousaka and the spanakopita. Both were super yummy! The recipe was definitely authentic. They have an amazing assortment of desserts. We had absolutely no room. Our waitress was very pleasant and told us that the owners are Greek. That made sense now. Our meal came with either soup of the day or a salad. I chose the Greek salad,of course. It was loaded with feta and very yummy. Didn't like the canned black olives. Fresh kalimata olives would have been tastier. My friend chose the soup, Manhattan clam chowder. It was delish.
Vegetarian options: The menu is huge. For sure you will find a few choices. Not dairy free.
Always great food made to order. The staff is very accommodating with excellent customer service. But the food.... Yum.... That's what counts
