It took my wife and I too many years to make it Whole in the Wall, and we finally made a reservation for Valentine's weekend. Adrianna greeted us warmly, and helped walk us through the questions we had about the menu. As vegetarians, the number of options we had to choose from was heart-warming! The mushroom soup was exquisite, as was everything we ordered. We stopped over by the kitchen to get some Pesto to take home, and had a nice chat with Chef Elliot. You want to get to the Whole in the Wall as soon as you can. Don't wait any longer!

Whole in the Wall is the definition of cozy, welcoming dining in Binghamton. The warm atmosphere pairs perfectly with their fresh, homemade food.
The Mediterranean platter was vibrant and flavorful crisp falafel, creamy hummus, smoky baba ghanoush, and refreshing tzatziki with fresh veggies. The scallops were beautifully seared and served with tender mushrooms in a rich, buttery sauce. Even the fried broccoli were light and crispy, and the mushroom soup was creamy and comforting. The garlic roll? Warm, buttery, and unforgettable.
Whether you’re craving something hearty or something fresh, Whole in the Wall delivers delicious, feel-good food every time. A true local gem. 🌟

Food is so so and portions not adequate especially regarding appetrizers. Overrated establishment we will not be returning
The enchilada is the best with a little bit of spice and the peanut butter pie is so good for dessert, we even brought some home for later. Amazing staff too!

I'm a long time southside resident, never eat at chain restaurants, but also never tried The Whole In The Wall Restaurant. Man have we been missing out. Eliot put a FB post out and I read it on Fri morning, we picked the spot for dinner and it didnt disappoint! I had the special enchilada, the taste matched the presentation! All the flavors blended perfectly. My wife had the scallops and she thoroughly enjoyed them as well! We also did cups of the mushroom soup, top 1 or 2 in the area for sure!
Eliot also made a point to come out and introduce himself, discuss some of the ingredients and crawl under the table to fix the wobble. There is nothing this guy cant do!
We didn't walk out of there stuffed like some other dinners, but rather perfectly full! I'll take quality over quantity every day!
Stop in and show them some love!

This is the cutest place ever. After we ate, one of the chefs asked how we liked it, and then he told us we were sitting next to where his grandmother’s bowl was hanging that she brought back from Vienna in the 1940’s. He was so kind and the food was SO amazing. Everything is a 1000000/10.

Everything was so yummy and the vibes in there were so great. Afterwards the owner mentioned that we were sitting next to his grandmothers bowl from Vienna and we had already read the note above it. Amazing service and food 10/10 recommend.

An unusual little restaurant where the food is just the beginning of the attraction. A wonderful ambiance and lots of interesting history on the walls. Portion sizes are adequate but less large than at many other places don’t hesitate to err on the side of a few sides. Finally don’t expect the chef to share his secrets! You only get to enjoy them on your plate.

I have loved the Whole in the Wall for 20 years. There is a special magic in the food that Elliot makes. The mushroom soup is like no other! The cheddar chicken broil just melts in your mouth! My husband loved the enchilada - savory and just spicy enough. Everything is made with love and you can tell!

The food was delicious and the atmosphere was lovely. We were looking for a restaurant that had gluten-free on the menu and found that almost all the items were had the option to be cooked gluten-free, which was important because my husband has Celiac. The food is also locally sourced and cooked perfectly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Binghamton. The owners are friendly and have been in business for over 40 years.
We always seek out any opportunity to visit Whole in The Wall whenever we’re in the area. The approach of fresh and simple ingredients works well- the dishes are packed with flavor. We tried the lasagna, bluefish, enchilada and raspberry brownie—loved by all. The opposite of flashy food, solid, great-tasting food.

Five of us visited on Saturday 8/2/25 for their reopening. Reservations were recommended so we got one at 4:30. The special was vegetable lasagna. It was which was wonderful. I’m so glad I chose it. The other dishes were said to be equally pleasing. The service was perfect. Ethan has a real gem there. Welcome back!
