Bella Luna Restaurant & Pizzeria

For quite some time we have been looking for an good alternative to our local pizza places because their food is never consistent and is expensive. We have eaten at Bella Luna several times over the years and always enjoyed the quality of their food. The draw back was they had a more limited menu and never used to deliver. Now under new ownership they have expanded the menu and I was very pleasantly surprised this evening when I called to place an order, thinking I would have to go back out and they asked if I wanted pickup or delivery.
The food was delivered on time, it was delicious and well priced .
We will definitely be ordering again soon.

First time in a long time. Quite a comedown from the previous ownership. The food was bland and the ornate features are gone.
Was not presented a wine list, was told they had white and red.

What a disappointment. We ordered a dozen of the clams oreganata to go and there were no clams inside the shell. It was just a knob of breadcrumbs and instead of 12 = to a dozen, they served us with 10. We called and asked for the manager and the young lady on the other end told us he's not working today?. No manager on site? What kind of restaurant are they running? Obviously that's why it was served 10 = 12 and someone either don't know what dozen stands for or someone is eating the 2 clams before it was put in the take out container.

2 slices were almost $9. Is this the going rate now? (To be fair, that includes a credit card surcharge of either 3 or 4% so it was $8+ for cash).

The slices were a bit larger than most, but not like Bennie Tudino's in Hoboken. One slice was plain, and one was chicken marsala. I get that a specialty slice would cost more, but really?? $8+ for 2 slices?

The crust was thin (my preference) so I liked that but it was still a bit bland. Very hard to find a decent slice with good crust these days. There was a generous amount of chicken and mushrooms on the marsala slice.

I gave it 2 stars because 3 to me would be average/satisfied overall. Better than average would be 4 stars and, well, 5 stars would be superb. I'll keep looking for a better slice.

There is a restaurant as well as a take-out counter. I sat at a bar table in the front by the take-out counter and the soda refrigerators. There were two other tables, a 4-top and a 2-top. Not sure about seating or decor in the restaurant. On a Saturday night, and except for a few other take-out customers, this place was empty at ~7:30. I heard one of the employees saying "good night" so it must have been a really slow night. It didn't seem like a really happy staff, generally, but I'm judging from only one short interaction.

As an aside, the credit card surcharge has become more and more prevalent since Covid, especially at restaurants. A great example of what would happen with tariffs on imports, IHMO.

Very tasty food, friendly accomdating service. Two different soups and eggplant parm delicious. Went for lunch with a friend and we left pleased.

Unfortunately not what they used to be. Forgot the sauce on my wrap, bread was stale and fries were super dry/powderish? Nice people still, not worth it for us though.

Not as good as I remember it. Possibly new owners or new cook.

The food was very good and it was presented well. That is that the food was carefully assembled on the plate with an attractive appearance. My only complaint is that the food was too salty for me. That's probably because I have to watch my salt intake so it may have been fine for other people. I'm just sensitive to that taste. All things considered, the food is reasonably priced. A thumbs up to this place exclamation point
