I knew this place was the real deal as soon as I saw the beef patty flake in my hands. It was delicious and so was my jerk chicken, peas and rice and cabbage. The chicken had the perfect spice - enough to clear my sinuses but not slow me down.
Door dashed some patties last night and they are now my new food obsession! The sorrel punch was sooo good! Ty guys! Will be there soon to try the dishes and I hope the curry chicken patty is brought back !!!

DON'T WASYE YOUR MONEY!!! In this review I will state FACTS only and not my opinions. I had the unfortunate opportunity to experience this Jamaican facility. I will Not refer to it as a restaurant because that it is NOT. 1. I walked in at 7:30pm Tuesday, June 4, 2024. There was No food in the window and I asked if they were closed. The young lady said no. 2. I asked the price of a small Oxtail the you lady said "15.00,". 3. I asked if they had stew chicken and the young lady said "yes". 4. I ended up ordering a small "JERK chicken and asked for no rice or plantain, only cabbage with gravy on the cabbage. 5. This cost me $10.00 When I got to my vehicle I noticed that the container was IcE cold. These SCUMBAGS sold me COLD food. The chicken was OLD and the food was cold. I went back in the "restaurant" and the young lady said " they close at nine and that take the food off the hot water. Lol The manager said she wouldn't give me my money back and "I should have noticed that the food was off the water to keep it hot and once you leave we can't give you your money back, but I can warm it up for you" Lol She went to warm up food that should have been hot in the first place. I walked out. Keep the money and keep your food and feed it to a DOG. Never AGAIN

Paid $17 plus tax for curry ox tail, peas and rice like 3sweet bananas and some cabbage. I think for that amount the food should be great. The food was horrible rice was dry no taste and looked like 2 days old ox tail had no curry in it. Terrible food and prices.??

People in the restaurant needs to get some training , this ain’t Jamaica dawg act like it . Went in there today , Saturday the 2nd around 1pm . Upon entering I said hello good afternoon to the lady behind the counter , she looked at me like I was lost and ignored me . I ordered me some curry goat and rice . No gloves whatsoever, her finger was touching the rice and such then boom she cashed me out handling money . Bro , it’s not that hard to use some gloves . FOOD IS VERY GOOD I CANT TAKE THAT AWAY . Crazy how employees can really bring a good business down . Won’t catch me or my friends there no more, best believe that .

However, this place just ain't it.I've learned to only purchase certain things here. Their soup, porridge, and breafast are pretty good. But their food ? Let's start with brown stew chicken. Why is the color of the gravy so black? It's called brown stew chicken, not black stew chicken, they put too much browning. Curry chicken was overcooked fish over fried. Beef patty lord, that's not only meat. it's mixed with something else. Plus, they skimp on everything. The new restaurant on suffolk is a bit better but not by much
The Owner needs to Get rid of that tall skinny rude guy that's aways in the front with his rude miserable self ASAP!!! You can feel his low negative energy once you come in,he is very rude and very unprofessionaland always seems and act like he does NOT want to be there at all !!! My Husband and I have been going there for many many many years Even when the original owner was there and Never Ever had the This disrespectful experience that we had Encountered today !!!!! Even people from around the way that we know has also complained about this one particularemployee,most of them go to a new Jamaican restauranton suffolk ave ,which is exactly what my husband and I did TODAY we walked out of Big Taste and went to the new Jamaican spot and definitely had a way better service ,the food was great and we was even greeted as soon as we came in !!!! Such a big difference!!! I refuse to give people my money that is very rude and unprofessional or let people with their rude negative energy service me especially when it comes to touching or handling my food etc , this is very bad for the owner at Big Taste!!! he is definitely losing alot of loyal customers over this one particular rude employee!!!! We Definitely not going back there,we rather drive down to our Home Town in Brooklyn then to ever go back to Big Taste again...

This morning I walked into my local restaurant. The gentleman at the registered has the only attitude. I been going here for years and never had a issue. This gentleman decides to talk to me like I'm a child. I believe even children deserve respect. I went up the block to suffolk avenue and I'm please. I work way too hard for my money to be spending it anywhere with people that have no respect for customer. The owner or the gentleman that in the back cooking is cool and the female employees are also ok but the gentleman in the front omg . He needs to be trained the right way. Politely greeting and acknowledging customers for start he definitely needs 101 training on that.
