Bobby Van's Steakhouse

Steaks were all over cooked, big no no for a steakhouse. Sides are good. Service is ok. Overall good but could use improvment. The place was packed so take that for what it's worth

Not expensive considering the location. Steak was cooked correctly to order. Steak sauce needs cleaner ingredients. Linguine with shellfish was the star of the show. Seating available on the sidewalk and indoors. Make a reservation if it is during the busy season (Memorial Day-Labor Day).

Genuine Americana in the Hamptons... you can rely on their fish or meats to be well prepared and worth the price...

The food was disappointing for a steakhouse. We ordered the surf and turf special. Very little steak that was cooked very well done unlike the medium rare requested. It took a very long time for a server to come over to voice this complaint. After sending the dish back we were advised that we “ate” all of the steak (asking other members of the party to try the cubes of meat to make sure it was in fact very over cooked) and charged $58 for 9oz filet that we most certainly did not receive.

If you’re looking for a genuine steakhouse in the area there are much better options than this.

WORST espresso martini- tried to send the sugar martini back. My request was denied. They make awful drinks!!! Steak was over cooked. I thought this was a steakhouse. The only correct thing they did was open a bottle of wine. Wow! Nice job Maria! Then refuse to take care of the disgusting mistakes. Gag. Ill never be back thats for sure.

A regular group of friends came over for happy hour which was posted on line. The manager decided he didn’t want to honor it since he makes more money during the summer. We will not be back

It can get crowded and noisy for mid-day lunch hour. However, I love a big crowd, so that was a vibe. The food was okay, not as great as in past years. I will have to revisit and order a different dish next time.

We walked over there hoping to have some sorbet because we were looking for places and it seemed to be a nice place that offered sorbet, it was 9:25pm and the website says it’s closed at 11 and they told us that they were closed and refused to seat us. Which is confusing because we wanted some dessert and it was an hour and a half before it closed…

The only decent thing about Bobby Van’s was that the service was fine. The atmosphere was absurdly loud - people were all shouting to be heard by their tablemates, making the dining experience completely unpleasant. The food was either okay or terrible (don’t get the linguini with clams - there are 5 actual clams in the dish and the rest come out of a can - that for $39.06). Their prices are also weird - $25.47, $72.39 etc. - what’s that all about? Finally, when the bill arrives to put you out of your misery, there is a last insult : you are charged a service fee if you use a credit card to pay! The Hamptons have plenty of very good restaurants - do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. No matter what you choose, it will be better than this place.

Here’s the deal w Bobby Vans: first, service is pretty good; second, atmosphere is weak - very very crowded, tables close together, REALLY loud - almost ridiculous. Steaks are Ok - pasta is HORRIBLE. Linguine came w clams out of a can, not fresh. There are SO MANY better options in the Hamptons: start w Fresno and EH Grill!!!

Went for a family celebration but was very disappointed. Dinners mediocre, sides mediocre service the same. Had to request steak knives and water refills. It's so loud in this restaurant your head throbs, not an enjoyable evening.

Not nearly as good as it should have been. Fish was dried out, service was marginal at best. We had to ask for: water, knife, bread plate, filet sauce, soup that was wrong and never made right. Very noisy. Service was not timely. Overall, very disappointing. Won't go back.
