So here I am finally after 60+ years decided to stop at this place. The place is frozen in time but amazing. Timeless antiques all over the joint. So I meet John the owner and he recommends the chicken quesadillas. Which I order. Plus a glass of Sutters cabernet. The wine is surprisingly delicious. Smooth and no bite. Best looking bar in New York City.Beautiful old former seaside hotel/boarding house is now just a really comfortable bar. They may have food, they may not. They may be out of your favorite beer, but it’s such a great space to have a drink (and the prices are reasonable across the board).They have pool and TV’s and will generally put on whatever game you request. Im not sure about the food but the service is decent and the ambiance is second to none. Grassy's is the coolest dive bar in Queens and I could stay here for hours checking out the vintage decor covering every inch of every wall.
