Not a soul in the restaurant but they have no tables available ???

DELICIOUS FOOD and DELICIOUS DESSERT! The food is a little pricey but you get what you pay for. The fresh lemon water on tap is an added bonus! I also wish they had more food on the menu, but the food they do have is really exceptional, especially for this area. Definitely the best place to have breakfast in Watkins Glen or Corning or Painted Post or Elmira. I would know because I've tried as many diners as I could around her and this is by far the best breakfast. They even put edible flowers in your food!!!!Oh and I had to edit this review because I forgot to mention the SCONES. OUT OF THIS WORLD! The best Scone I've ever eaten.

My husband and I stopped here on our way home from a short getaway to Seneca Lake. We read reviews and looked forward to trying the charming Berta's! The cafe seemed cute enough at first glance, and a nice woman opened the door for us. Although it was a little off-season (October), the "landscaping" out front was wildly overgrown and looked very unkempt. Cash only. Friendly staff. Good coffee. Okay food and extremely pricey. Almost $35 for two breakfasts and coffee.

We really enjoyed our meal. We came here with friends for breakfast and had a great meal, all fresh and home made. The prices are alittle high but it is a great spot for food and excellent service if you like cafes and home made food check them out, but rember cash only.

Completely awesome place! The food was delicious, and it's a nice relaxing atmosphere. If we lived nearby, we'd go there all the time.

Six of us ranging in age from 3 to 73 stopped here for breakfast before going to blueberry picking. The wait staff was very nice and friendly, explaining things patiently. One was concerned that I had mistaken the hot sauce for ketchup so she quickly ran to our table to stop me. Our 3-year old twins spilled water on the floor and it was cheerfully cleaned up - without admonishment. The food was fine albeit the serving size is more appropriate for people watching their waist lines rather than for lumberjacks. I like the fact that no two tables were alike. There are some tables on the back porch but the view there was not enticing. We were there in August but noticed the gas stove which would add ambience in the colder months. All in all it was good food, good experience and excellent service.

I really enjoyed the biscuits and gravy. Added an over easy egg and it was Hands Down

Easily the best biscuits and gravy we have ever ordered! Omelette was a step above. Super cute place, really clean. Amazing coffee. Friendly to kids.

Loved the food. I can appreciate that they make a lot of the stuff from scratch. However, $21 for an omelet, a side of sausage, and coffee is a little outrageous in my opinion.
