My husband and I loved it here! We arrived in the fingerlakes around 8:00 pm after a long drive, and Hector Hideaway was one of the only places we could find that was open a little later and selling food. We sat at the upstairs bar and had the best time. Drinks were great and food was even better. My husband said the Buffalo chicken Alfredo was one of the best dishes he’s ever eaten. The staff is incredible and we had so much fun talking with them. Would go back in a heart beat next time we’re in the area!

Food, service, and views are all spectacular. Dining after sunset and watching the area get dark was a much different view of lake Seneca than I have had elsewhere (most places close earlier). We enjoyed a chicken french grilled cheese and an order of scampi. Both were served hot and were excellently prepared. We will be back for an earlier meal to watch the sunset

Food was great, service was great and views were out of this world. Music on the balcony was an added bonus. We had the pretzel, potato skins, Cesar salad, cod and eggplant sandwich. So delicious. Our waitress was friendly and informative and also provided some history on the establishment.

Upon arriving, we were asked if we had a reservation (we did not). I was worried it was going to be a problem, but fortunately, it was not an issue at all. The hostess gave us the option to sit inside or outside on the deck. We chose to sit outside with the beautiful view of their property and Seneca Lake in the background. The hostess put the umbrella up for us so we did not have to sit directly in the sun, which I greatly appreciated. Our waitress was lovely and the food was delicious. I had the cheeseburger, and my husband had the chicken French grilled cheese sandwich. The ingredients were fresh, and the meats were cooked to perfection. The service was a bit on the slow side, but I actually enjoyed the more mellow pace. Our waitress apologized for the wait, but I was in no hurry, and it made us feel like they weren't in a rush for us to eat and leave. We had time to sit and enjoy our drinks and the scenery. It was a wonderful evening.

They found us a space for 4 people although fully booked by opening their ground level The food was good and the view on the Lake fantastic

The food was inconsistent!! There were 5 in our party. Two of us sent the rib dinner back. The food was salty and was supposed to have polenta fries but they never updated the menu and it had a few small potatoes for a significant $$. They took the meals off like it was a favor , when it should be standard practice if the food is not edible. The hostess mentioned giving us a dessert but we were never given any compensation for two of us not having diner. The waitress was randomly setting drinks on the table and we were passing them to the correct person. She seemed very disinterested in serving ! The view was beautiful and if you make a reservation be specific about wanting an outdoor table with an umbrella. We would not go back. It was the only disappointing meal while at Seneca Lake.

This is our second time here. We came last year when when we came on vacation. Very disappointing this time around. The service was extremely slow. The food was average for the price. The atmosphere was meh. A couple came in while we were sitting next to the reception area and they were told it would be a 40 minute wait. Another couple came in not long after and were told it would be a 10 minute wait. Not sure we will be going back.

I wanna start off by saying, I didn’t have their food because we got there just after the kitchen closed, but the bar.. TOP NOTCH!! Lindsay, Gavin and Milo are the greatest people I’ve ever met! So fun and so down to earth! My three friends and I were the only ones there for a while and by far the most fun I’ve had in a while! For a little google search of “bars near me” because I’m not from around the area, to find this awesome place, was the highlight of my day! Thank you for great service and just being great people!! 10/10
