JR Dill winery is amazing. From their wines to the staff and Owner. They will always go above and beyond to meet your needs. This is one winery that must be visited when you come to the Finger Lakes.
J.R. Dill is my favorite winery on Seneca Lake. The owners and staff have cultivated a relaxed, friendly atmosphere that sets it apart from some of the other spots in the area. They know and love their craft and you get the feeling that they genuinely enjoy sharing the results with their guests.
We prefer wines on the drier end, so make sure the Cab Sauv/Cab Franc blend and their Dry Riesling make it onto your flight.
You can also check out their wine bar in the heart of Watkins Glen if it's more convenient for your travel plans.
During our recent stay in the Fingerlakes we came in on a Thursday during off-season. And per our mistake, we checked the hours and looked at the wrong day. We showed up at noon not realizing that they were closed. They greeted us at the door to let us know they were closed, she asked if we just wanted a bottle or two, that she could do that, but they were not open for tastings. We let her know actually the reason we stopped was because we wanted to get a case of a specific wine. She let us in and had the most wonderful service. Thank you JR Dill! Amazing wine and amazing people!!!
Had a great time making my own wine. Our group spent over $500 in wine and the winery could not consider giving up 2 glasses for a couple that wanted them for their collection.
Great wines! 5 wines for $10
Pleasant wine tasting experience. Very attentive staff, even with the season winding down. Limited small plate selection, but easy to find a snack if you were hungry. One of the best views of the lake. They have one of the best Veltner wine that I’ve ever had.
Great place, friendly staff!! A must go too ✔️
We had an absolutely delightful flight at JR Dill. Their reds were delicious and we also enjoyed a soft pretzel with beer cheese, which was great. Most importantly, they are one of the few wineries in the Finger Lakes that waive the tasting fee if you spend more than $30 on your purchase. That’s what you should do. Hats off to JR Dill and Astor. Astor! Highly recommend.
We had a great time at this winery. Very dog friendly; there is a patio as well as Picnic tables in the grass where you can have dogs. Wines were great, staff very friendly, have snacks if you are hungry.
wonderful staff and great value

Some of the best local wine we've tasted.
We had a great afternoon as the staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The wine samples were explained and compared. We left with several bottles and will return.
The staff is great, the wine, IPA and meatballs are awesome, and everything is very well priced. It's a great place to relax for an hour and enjoy the lake scenery which is truly stunning. It's family friendly too!
Great Service. JR himself was bartending and very welcoming. Their riesling is definitely a must try. The cocktails (gin basil smash) top. Overall great vibes
I have to say this is a hidden gem on the Seneca Wine Trail. A true boutique wine kind of feel. A very inviting feeling. Extremely nice and knowledgeable staff. The Cayuga White Rise is their best seller for a reason. It's crisp and effervescent and perfectly balanced. We tasted the Three Barrel Blend 2021 a red wine and even though it was a rainy year in 2021 you wouldn't know it. When I said the Finger Lakes was not known for their red wines one of the wine makers said, "it's not the 90s anymore." This was definitely the best red wine I've ever had in the finger lakes. Come in person because you won't find these gems in a store.
