This is a “must go” for SLU families. The Hoot has been an institution within an institution for decades and hasn’t really changed. Definitely recommend for a college dive bar in the little town of Canton.

Reminds me of old times, but with more lighting!

Best bar best service best prices. 10/10. Any SLU graduate will tell you how fantastic this place is

Nothing on tap. And cracks a beer open BEFORE telling me it's cash only. Ok, no problem. Where's your ATM? They don't have one... its 2023. Get a credit card machine.

What a great little hoot of a place!! ?Came out to the area this summer for an academy and made a stop at night. The owner did "the hoot owl derby" horse race for us. A tradition only certain people know haha.Cornhole & pool tables are great, has about 4 rooms! And the bar is so unique being designed through an old train station. Best small town bar I've seen, will be going back! Beer is decently priced, great people and very nice.

You had better go here and tell me if it's OK because I didn't have time. And that sucks because it has a cool name.

The long time classic bar of canton, full of nostalgia and history. Cash only so come prepared. Pool and darts for those looking.

I worked here in the 70’s, same name. legendary times. Should qualify as a Historical landmark.

The Hoot Owl provided many enjoyable happy hours back while attended SUNY Canton. Paid them a visit last year, unfortunately when I went they were closed, too early in the day. It was an old railroad station which is where the name comes from. This place is definitely worth a look and at least a few drinks

So old they have the ancient urinals that go down to the floor. A delight rathole of a place next to the railroad and SLU. Labatt Blue is mothers milk in there...
