Stayed recently in a 2 bed room. Highly recommend as issues from previous ownership have been resolved. Everything works great (AC, Hot Water WiFi, etc.), check in and check out are easy and they were very accommodating with parking for my trailer and boat. Great location in Cape Vincent within walking to anything you could want to do and only a few minutes drive from the Lighthouse at Tibbetts Point. You'll be glad you stayed.

Stopped in this Historical Hotel, a must see, with gorgeous interiors and stained glass. This place is a vibe. What a historic asset to Cape Vincent. The only draw back was they only had the bar open , the restaurant coming soon, I can't wait to go eat there.

Noteworthy details: Gorgeous interiors of days gone by , a must see.

In 2017, my husband and I drove down to South Carolina to see the eclipse. The people, food, and the experience of the eclipse was phenomenal. So, we decided to book our second eclipse experience 6 months in advance at The Roxy in Cape Vincent, New York. Two weeks prior we tried to contact the hotel and at first could not get a hold of anyone. I sent an email, no response. A week later, I tried calling again and got someone who told me to call the next morning. I called and again, no answer. Then, the day before we were to arrive, I noticed a pending charge on my credit card.We arrived at the hotel and saw many cars parked there, but we walked into an empty front desk with no lights on. There were a few young men leaving, and one of them turned around and came back. We asked what was happening, and he told us that the place was no longer open. He was very polite and nice and offered to call the owner to let him know that we were here to check in. We had booked the hotel for three nights. The owner refused to talk to us, and he simply gave a phone number of a person that was supposed to help us find a room. After several phone calls to that person, we still hadn’t heard anything back. Thankfully , we were finally able to find a room on our own.I want to tell you about our stay in the village of Cape Vincent. Every place we went for a meal, whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner, was outstanding. The people here were so kind. The area itself is very nice and the St. Lawrence river was beautiful. We would highly recommend to visit this town of Cape Vincent.

The business owner, Tyler, owes an apology to the community of Cape Vincent. Do not reserve a room this is a scam. For any potential tourist, would you feel safe staying in a location with zero working staff, open access to every room key, a bar without any supervision, filth on every surface, no response from the four listed emergency contact numbers, a chirping fire alarm that can go unnoticed for days, inoperable restrooms, no working elevator, and halls with open liquor containers, prescription pills, and food refuse on every flat surface? How about if the volunteer fire department shows up to address the now blaring fire alarms throughout the building and still no staff arrives? This place makes Frat houses look clean, and by the sound of it Tyler would love to keep this as his frat house. My many attempts to contact Tyler to check into my room reserved months in advance went unanswered because he was at a hockey game, found out he owns a local team. And the mess is because the hockey players live in the rooms, and have for months. Why are you still taking reservations on occupied rooms, Tyler??Hearing this news that made me appreciate not staying in this dump. I would have thought the fire department showing up to the vacant hotel lobby to deal with blaring alarms and disconnected smoke detectors would interest the property owner more than a hockey game. No, still, calls to Tyler went unanswered but I doubt he values the time of those volunteer fire fighters. What a disgusting disaster of a business that happens to be the first thing tourists may see upon visiting the village. It's an embarrassment that the other businesses in this community shouldn't have to deal with, and a gross shame to this historic building. We found out our scenario was not unique, at least a dozen other people had the exact same experience as us this weekend, left stranded at the fault of a wanna-be frat boy huckster. This is not a hotel.Attached photos show how easily accessible room keys are to anyone in the unstaffed lobby.Safety: Highly dangerous conditions, no staff presence, room keys are easily accessible to anyone. Full bar was unstaffed and easily accessible to anyone. No working elevator, smoke alarms disconnected and zero response from any emergency contact numbers posted.Noteworthy details: This business is inoperable. All communication with the owner has gone unanswered. No working staff.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and very nice, cool design. AC, mini fridge and internet all worked well. The room was spacious. One thing to know is the it’s a small hotel and there’s not staff there round the clock. There’s only staff there when the bar is open. If I was traveling alone I may have found it a bit spooky at night for that reason. But staying there with my husband was great.

Restaurant area was virtually empty except for one large group of 12 and another table of 2. The waitress saw us standing but proceeded to take orders from the small booth and then went to the large group to take their order. We asked if we could seat ourselves she said we would have wait till she finished taking the order of the large group.. so we left. She missed out on nice tip from us when all we wanted to do is sit and wait and not stand.

My wife and I booked a two night stay here. We did not know until we got there that we were going to be the only ones there. There was absolutely no staff or guest's. We were the only ones there and had to be told where to find the key on the outside of the building and then told where to find our room key. We felt as though we stepped into the movie The Shining. Doors to the outside on the second floor were open upon arival, there was no hot water, no TV and nobody to help us. The owner did not respond to calls, text or email. We got through the first night, because we had nowhere else to go. We did not stay the second night and requested not to be charged for the second night. We were charged for both. The whole experience was unsettling. We do not recommend staying there.

Unable to open door from inside of room because the wrong key was issued . No personnel on duty , no hotel emergency number to call . Had to call 911 ! State Police came and got a room key ,found that key attached to our room fob was incorrectly labeled . A/C did not work . Called and spoke to the manager Vanessa next day when she came on duty . Did not show any sign of concern for the possible safety issue that this caused .Safety: We would not recommend staying here since no one is at the front desk overnight to deal with any issues that may arise. Also management doesn’t seem to care !

Pro's - Very nice inside. Great job keeping all the wood features. Doors are from a cruise ship and room had vintage mahogany dresser and canopy bed. Check in wasn't until 5, but we were able to contact owner and were able to check in early. Food and service at restaurant/bar was good. Cable was out so there was no TV, but we are supposed to be compensated for this with a room discountCon's - There is no one on site unless the restaurant/bar is open, which isn't until 5:00 pm. Therefore, if you need anything or have any questions, there isn't anyone there to help. No one at check in. You need to go to bar and have bartender check you in. Our room with king size bed was small and the bathroom was tiny. My fiance had a hard time moving around in the shower. It was smaller then our travel trailer shower. No phones, fridge, coffee maker or microwave in room. No plastic cups in bathroom for water. Our room did not have internet. Not sure if it was just our room that had this issue as no there was one there to ask. We know of two couples who could not get out of their rooms due to lock not working. They both called 911 because there was no one on site to help. State trooper came to room next to ours to help couple open their door and then fire department showed up.This could be a very nice hotel if management ran it like a hotel and not just a restaurant/bar. Definitely has great possibilities. Not sure if we would stay there again.
