Amazing food, worth a special trip here. The best katsu curry in NY, & amazing gyoza. Also, everyone is very kind & attentive, & it seems as though they have many regulars that they are friendly with, nice family environment.

Wow, first time at Koiso and we LOVE I!! The food was fresh, delicious, flavorful and portions are huge! The service by Sonny was amazing, kind and friendly. The owners also came by to chat with us. We definitely will be back. We ordered plenty so we can try and every dish from Jami salad to chicken teriyaki, pork gyozya, agedashi tofu, shrimp tempura udon soup and crab cream croquette was amazing.
The restaurant was very comfortable, nice and cozy! Keep up the amoxnb work. Thank you for your hospitality!

I had the age dashi, the koiso 4 (we had a party of 7), the katsu curry, and the yellowtail scallion hand roll. The food was surprisingly delicious. It seemed like an authentic japanese restaurant despite the fact that the people that run it are not japanese. I would actually like to return.

HORRIBLE!!! I threw up today and I AM A SUSHI EXPERT!!! They for SURE refreezed the fish over and over again, and if you look at the marbling, it isnt good! And when you eat the fish, its EXTREMELY cold!!! My sisters and dads stomach hurts, so it could be the parasites! NEVER EAT HERE IF YOU WANNA DEAL WITH THIS!!!

We found this restaurant from Google after visiting Roosevelt Field mall from Staten Island. We were skeptical by the store front appearance. But we were greeted with A+ service upon entering the restaurant. I admit the interior is original design since the opening day but it’s clean. We took a chance to order 3 appetizers and 3 other dishes. The Hamachi Kama served with a radish, traditional Japanese style. Turns out the owners are Japanese and they are very friendly with regulars . It is very rare to dine at Japanese owned sushi restaurant in NYC nowadays. I’m glad we found this restaurant . The fishes are fresh. Price is very reasonable!! We will return from Staten Island once a month in the summer.

Amazing! The quality of the sushi was outstanding. I ordered the omakase dinner special and I loved it. I ordered take out on a busy saturday night and had to wait a bit which is totally okay!! The employees were all so sweet and even offered me a seat with ice water while i waited. I will definitely be back :)

Curry is good. Teriyaki chicken is just okay, chicken was a bit tough to tear.

If you're looking for an unforgettable sushi experience on Long Island, Koiso Sushi Restaurant is an absolute gem you need to visit. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed into a clean, calm, and beautifully arranged space. The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing, with thoughtful seating arrangements that allowed us to truly enjoy our meal without feeling crowded or rushed.
We ordered the Koiso Sushi Platter B, Shumai, and the Kani Mango Salad – and every bite was a delight. The Sushi Platter B was a true masterpiece, showcasing an incredible variety of fresh, flavorful fish, perfectly seasoned rice, and meticulous presentation. Each piece felt like it was crafted with care and expertise. The Shumai was delicate and savory, cooked to perfection with a wonderful texture that melted in the mouth. The Kani Mango Salad was the perfect refreshing complement to the meal — light, sweet, and full of vibrant flavors that balanced beautifully with the sushi.
The service was also excellent — friendly, attentive, and respectful of our space, adding to the already relaxing atmosphere.
Overall, Koiso Sushi Restaurant offers a top-tier dining experience where quality, flavor, and ambiance come together perfectly. We can't wait to come back for another visit!

Everyone ate and enjoyed their food too quickly to take photos. Sushi was fresh, the Negimaki was tasty and flavorful, as was the miso ramen. Seaweed salad is one of our favorites to share.
