I attended my great granddaughters wedding recently where birch hill handled the catering. The staff were very unapproachable, miserable, did not smile and cleared our plates before we could finish! It was absolutely absurd. Do better especially for the outrageous prices.

A wonderful venue run by outstanding people. 5 stars is not enough of a rating. Serena and her staff did an amazing job for my daughters wedding. She even handled an issue that was not hers. We can't say enough about her. I highly recommend Birch Hill Estate.

Serena and the team at Birch Hill made the entire experience of our wedding so much easier. From our first tour, her hospitality showed through right away. She was so kind, no matter what questions or concerns we had, she dealt with them professionally and added so many personal touches. Our day ran incredibly smooth, down to the last detail, she had a plan & executed it. My family absolutely adored the experience working with the team at Birch Hill. When the shuttles were late arriving for the ceremony, Serena compensated us with an extra half hour in the ballroom. It gave us more time to dance and have fun with our guests which she 100% did not have to do. It was an absolute joy to work with her & the team at Birch Hill! The food was incredible too, i'll be dreaming about the mac and cheese forever!

Serena, Stephen and the entire Birch Hill team was outstanding! They worked closely with us to customize the menu and accommodated every request with ease. The food was excellent, beautifully presented, and our guests are still talking about it. Their flexibility, professionalism, and attention to detail made the entire experience seamless. We highly recommend them for upcoming events!

Working with Birch Hill was an excellent experience, and they made our wedding day really special. We worked with Jared during the planning stage, and Joanne was our primary contact on the day of the wedding. Both Jared and Joanne were so nice, friendly, accommodating, and helpful. They were a true pleasure to work with.

Jared is clearly very experienced and was a wealth of knowledge during the planning process, which made things a lot easier on us, especially regarding decision-making. He helped us to customize the event to make it just right for us and was incredibly accommodating to our requests and specifications.

Joanne was so attentive, checking in with us throughout the event, bringing us water and appetizers and napkins and drinks and making sure that we got enough to eat. The wedding day was such a blur, and we easily lost track of time talking to our guests, so it was incredibly helpful to have Joanne looking out for us.

All of the other staff were fantastic, as well. They were friendly, helpful, and professional.

The food was delicious! We enjoyed it very much and got so many compliments from our guests.

Highly recommend! We had our wedding in May at Birch Hill with the ceremony in the conservatory ballroom and the cocktail hour & reception in the Columbia ballroom. We had planned to have our ceremony outside, but due to rain we held the ceremony inside. The conservatory was just as beautiful as outside! Our event coordinator Serena was amazing to work with and responded quickly to our questions, all the staff were great. Food was great as well. We are so thankful Birch hill provided a great wedding experience!

Serena and the entire team were fantastic to work with! She was able to answer all of the questions we had, quickly and seamlessly, to help us have the best wedding day possible. Her help with everything in the lead up to the event, made our day so easy- we could just sit back and enjoy the time with our loved ones! She helped us figure out everything- including things we didn’t even know we had to think about!

The team was prepared to support anything that could come our way, and did it with ease. There were some technical issues the morning of our wedding, and before I even knew about it they already had fixes in place and a plan in action the make the day go smoothly. They worked incredibly hard to make our day easy and special- we couldn’t be more thankful!

Serena at Birch Hill made planning our wedding easier than we would have expected. She was flexible in coordinating times to meet with us to discuss how our plans were coming along. As far as the actual wedding, we could not have been happier with how the day went! From the food to the atmosphere, our wedding day was everything we had hoped it would be.

The owner or manager of Birch Hill clearly doesn't understand or respect disability rules, regulations, or basic human decency. He aggressively approached someone with a medical service animal and RUDELY asked him to leave! If this is how they treat their guests, ask yourself how they're going to treat YOUR guests that may need special accomodations. This was even after the venue was told a service animal would be coming. If they can't coordinate on an important detail like that how could they possibly coordinate your wedding or event well. I would never trust them with anything important. Also, this is a rule and regulation that ALL establishments need to follow and respect. If they're messing up this clearly communicated rule (how many of us have seen signs that only service animals are allowed?) what other rules are they messing up? If they can't be bothered with this safety regulation, what other safety regulations can they not be bothered with? If you aren't bothered by the fact that the manager failed with basic human decency then maybe their disregard for safety laws will give you pause. Would give 0 stars if I could and will recommend everyone stay away from this entire shady and unkind business.

Came here for a work event, my co-worker who has a service dog was denied entry because the owner refused to allow the dog on the premise. Despite the fact our organization cleared the service animal with birch hill before the event. The owner was so rude and abrasive he triggered a panic attack in my co-worker. 0 out of five stars I will never come here again and I recommend anyone who is thinking about using this location to pick somewhere else.

We had a beautiful May wedding in Birch Hill's Conservatory Ballroom! Our wedding coordinator Serena was a pleasure to work with and always responsive. She was really attentive on the day of the wedding and was accommodating with our schedule changes. Even though the rain forced us to move our outdoor ceremony inside, we had an absolutely stunning ceremony in the Conservatory Ballroom filled with natural light. We were able to utilize the other ballroom w/patio that was available for the cocktail hour, allowing for a smooth transition back into the Conservatory for the reception. Luckily the rain cleared up and we were able to take pictures outside on Birch Hill's gorgeous, extensive grounds. They have so many scenic locations that make for perfect photo ops. All our guests raved about the food! There was an endless amount of delicious menu options with their Ultimate package. We couldn't be happier that we chose Birch Hill and recommend them for their beautiful natural grounds, dreamy Conservatory Ballroom, amazing food, and personalized service that's unique to family-owned businesses. We'll forever cherish our wedding!

Serena and the staff at Birch Hill were AMAZING! Planning a wedding is fun but stressful and Serena took the time to answer all my emails and every question I had in the months leading up to our wedding. The food was delicious, the venue absolutely stunning and the service and attention to detail from the staff was impeccable. They really make you feel special on your day and go above and beyond in their service. We 100% recommend Birch Hill Catering as a wedding venue.

Birch Hill Catering in Castleton-On-Hudson is a stunning venue that delivers an unforgettable atmosphere for weddings and events. The setting was beautiful and well-maintained, and the service staff was friendly and attentive throughout the evening. One of the highlights of the night was the cocktail hour—absolutely phenomenal! The hors d’oeuvres were creative and delicious, with a great variety to please every guest. From the mini crab cakes to the savory sliders and fresh bruschetta, everything was hot, flavorful, and beautifully presented.

Unfortunately, the main course didn’t quite live up to the high expectations set during cocktail hour. The chicken entrée was noticeably dry, and when a guest asked for a replacement, the request was politely declined, which was disappointing. That said, the overall experience was still very enjoyable thanks to the exceptional ambiance, incredible appetizers, and top-notch service. With a bit more flexibility and consistency in the main course, Birch Hill could be truly outstanding from start to finish.

Beautiful location

There is nothing negative I could ever say about Birch Hill/Stablegate Farm! When I was first looking for a place to hold our wedding there were very few things that were more important to me than that we found something that fit what exemplified us as a couple, it was all inclusive and that they provided a relaxing experience. Our first meeting with Birch Hill and Stablegate had me sold before I even got home. The pricing they provided was completely transparent leaving no questions asked and they also offer many different packages to suit everyone's different likes and/or needs (and not just for food!). They also have a Vendor list they give you for suggested Vendors they have work with and have relationships with to help you further. The staff want nothing more but to help make your day the best it can be. The person that was originally our Coordinator did leave the company so we were without a solid Coordinator for a while but the communication the fellow Coordinators provided in the absence was phenomenal. We arranged for our favors to be jams crafted locally with Val through Stablegate Farm. The menu tasting at Birch Hill was well organized, displaying their amazing options as well as having their partnering bakeries present to talk to about possibly doing your cake and/or desserts. During the tasting the Birch Hill President went around and introduced himself and struck up conversation and was very pleasant. This is also where my husband and I met Jared. Jared is one of the Coordinators at Birch Hill and so friendly, outgoing, fun, knowledgeable, helpful and genuinely made sure you had everything and all the answers you needed - one would say you are drawn to him. The interaction we had with him we outright asked if he would be our permanent Coordinator and we couldn't have been more happy or thankful for him! Jared made the rest of the planning process so painless and easy. Jared would think of and suggest things that would make our day even more memorable and beautiful and implement it. He even danced with the 6 year old flower girl when she became restless! Through it all, the staff at Birch Hill and Stablegate was incredible from the first meeting until the last second of the reception and I can't imagine having had any other experience.
