My friends and I arrived at this restaurant at 5:30 pm hoping to walk in for dinner. The hostess informed us they were fully booked and couldn’t let us eat without a reservation. We noticed there were empty tables and, out of curiosity, we checked Google and found that reservations were available at 6pm, thinking maybe someone cancelled. We made the reservation for 4 at 6 pm and returned. When we arrived, we showed the hostess our reservation, and she told us that they “didn’t have internet” (with an iPad in her hands) and that we still couldn’t eat there. I suggested to her that she inform management they should probably fix their online reservation system so people don’t make the same mistake and while leaving she called us “stupid for not trusting the human.”
We were really excited to eat here and are very disappointed by the hostility of the hostess.

Great meal, the schnitzel was terrific. Friendly servers who work hard to make everything right. They even had Fernet Branca as a digestive. The espresso was a disappointment.

My wife and I had an amazing polish dinner tonight. The service was top notch but the food was delicious. The restaurant was really nice. The tables had high back booths which really gave you the feeling that you had a little intimacy. Great job!

I would call it Polish Fusion. (From a Poles perspective )! Few traditional Polish dishes with a twist plus other items. Enjoyed the Pork and Chicken Schnitzels. Potato and Cheese pierogi. Burrata with prosciutto. Enjoyed. Staff were very caring and friendly. Nice ambiance and place was clean. Reservations recommended especially Friday and Saturday evenings. Place was fairly packed. Didn’t feel rushed. Noticed a private room in the back for Bigger groups. Will return again. Place is in downtown Catskill!

We stopped in Catskills on our way from NYC to Montreal and this was a great idea. In this lovely Main Street, we found the New York Restaurant and enjoy our dinner there. Very fresh food, tasty and colorful plates, great ambiance, lovely staff. Great overall experience!

Just ate here last night for a birthday party and was reminded how good this restaurant can be. I'm not usually a big fan of stuffed cabbage, but I found myself going back for seconds. A simple Caesar was made special with the inclusion of some pickled summer squash. The salmon was nicely prepared with a side of perfectly cooked asparagus.
You should definitely think about.the private function room for a special occasion.

Took too long for everything. Waited over an hour for a drink. Ridiculous. The service was nice but way too slow. The food was "okay." The entire two+ hour ordeal was not enjoyable. Will not be returning.

I’m sad to say that New York Restaurant has gone way down hill. We had dinner with friends and while the waitress was attentive and lovely there was nothing good about the food. I had a tasteless $32 piece of salmon. Our friends ordered a burger which was also not good. The Perogi were decent. The drinks were not. It pains me because this was one of very few restaurants on this side of the river that was good. Not any more.
