Sadly, due to the unwelcoming attitude of the employee who attended us, I have to give this place one star. My girlfriend and I went early in the morning, and it wasn’t busy at all. After the lady finished helping one couple, she came to us with what felt like pure annoyance.
Nothing in the display case was labeled, so we asked simple questions like what certain pastries were or how they were sold. Each time, she sighed, rolled her eyes, or gave short, unpleasant answers as if we were bothering her. Her tone and body language made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.
When she asked how many we were getting, I said we weren’t sure yet since we were still looking, and she responded with another eye roll and walked off. Even at the register, she seemed irritated, and it looked like she didn’t know the prices or how to use the system.
If you’re not a morning person, maybe don’t work mornings — customers shouldn’t feel like they’re a burden just for asking questions. The pastries themselves were actually great — fresh and tasty — but the service completely ruined the experience. If I hadn’t driven so far, I honestly would’ve left everything there. Unacceptable service.

Came in to buy a cake tres Leche I guess the girl messed up because when I got to my sisters, it was a strawberry shortcake. I questioned her, but she said it was the Tres Leche for $27. I thought that was a ridiculous price, but it was for my son-in-law and that’s his favorite but it turned out. It was the wrong cake that she gave me. I was very disappointed. I really don’t know if I will come back.

I got my wedding cake through Benkerts bakery and it was absolutely perfect. I had a very specific cake request that required fresh flowers included on top and it looked amazing. The cake tasted so good!! We wanted fresh strawberry jam in our cake which many bakeries were unable to do, but Benkerts did it and knocked it out of the park. The jam had chunks of strawberries in it which is exactly what I wanted. They delivered our cake on time and in perfect condition. I would definitely recommend Benkerts to anyone looking for a perfect wedding cake. Best cake I’ve ever eaten in my life!

I dropped in because I was craving Crumb cake. The place is clean and well organized. I did not wait and was served immediately. The young lady was really striving to give me a stellar experience and she did. All that is important but I was expecting a luscious piece of crumb cake. What I got was hard and tasty but the texture was disappointing. Next time I have this craving I will buy an Entenmanns. If a baker doesn't keep up on the products hire more bakers

The best since 1965, that's how long I've been going there after a 5 year absence I visited Long Island and went straight to Benkerts, not pizza not bagels, not Chinese no Benkerts and damn glad I did, and will do it again. Can't go wrong, there one place that's equal since 1962 and that's in Ozone Park Queens.

This bakery has gone way downhill from years ago. Cookies tasted stale and artificial like they added some type of chemicals to them. Girl who filled order was unfriendly and rude and looked annoyed that she had to handle my order. Well excuse me; won't be back to Benkert's bakery ever again so you're all good!
