Iron Chef of Central Valley Reviews
There wasn't any flavor or seasonings as in the past in the shrimp or fried rice. We had to ask for soy sauce from the chef to add some taste. The fried rice used to be seasoned with sesame oil and sesame seeds. The once customary well seasoned and very tasty Hibachi is sadly no more at this franchise location. Even with a $100 plus bill for two you are charged for a cup of tea. Knife tricks, tossing food to those willing to catch it in their mouth and a pleasant ambience does not make up for food that just doesn't leave you wanting to return to the Iron Chef Hibachi restaurant in Central Valley,NY. We will be going elsewhere.
Where has all of the flavor gone? Fried rice and shrimp bland with no seasoning. Bean sprouts are a thing of the past as no longer provided. Had to request from chef soy sauce and sesame seeds to add to rice. The only enhanced part of the dinner was the higher bill.
Nicely renovated, however, you can't eat ambiance. It's predecessor Gasho used to include bean sprouts in addition to mixed vegetables with the dinner meal and that went bye-bye with the former Gasho. They also charge extra for a small cup of hot tea which should be included considering the considerable cost of the entire meal including mixed drinks, appetizers, entrees, side dishes, dessert and gratuity. The waitress brought the soup almost as soon as we were served the salad. By the time the salad was finished the soup was no longer hot. I guess the cook had a plane to catch or management was in a big hurry to move diners in and out. The filet mignon was suspect as other diners at the table ordered steak combo dinners and I did not discern any difference in the appearance of the cut of meats that were served. Hopefully, the owners will embrace the beneficial suggestions and implement them.

Iron Chef of Central Valley is a restaurant with a beautiful location and ample parking. The service is great, and the prices are moderate. Diners have enjoyed both regular dining and hibachi, noting that it is no-frills and no-nonsense. While some experienced small portions, many praised the delicious food and fun atmosphere. The chef is entertaining and attentive, ensuring that drinks are always refilled without having to ask. The Classic Hibachi and sushi, including some of the better rolls in the area, are highly recommended. The restaurant also offers vegetarian options, making it easy for those with dietary restrictions to find something to enjoy. Families will find it kid-friendly, with special attention given to younger guests. Overall, Iron Chef of Central Valley is a great spot for a night out, complete with large pours of drinks at decent prices.
The restaurant has undergone a name change from Gasho Japanese hibachi restaurant. Customers have reported that the grounds are run-down, with structures and a pond abandoned, although some new trees have been planted. The maki rolls are good, but a Thai entree did not meet expectations. Despite these issues, the pricing and service remain good, though some may not go out of their way to visit again. The hibachi experience is still praised, with the Iron Chef putting on a real show. Customers have also highlighted the warm hospitality and attentive service provided by the staff, particularly Eillen and Jacky, who have made the dining experience unforgettable for some.
