Such a nice tasting with Karen! And it was only $8! Stop in for a relaxing sip and also try their Black Button Distilling American Whiskey, not bad at all.
We came to White Caps Winery by boat and it was AMAZING! Michael was an incredible host. His wine knowledge and hospitality made our afternoon. We took home plenty of Pilot’s Choice to keep enjoying our experience. Definitely worth a stop! Such a beautiful tasting room too.
Based on the reviews, it seems as if we hit the winery on abnormally off night? Our family has been coming to Chaumont for over 100 years yet we had never been to White Caps! The day after the 4th of July this year seemed to be the right time for us to visit. The grounds looked beautiful and we even saw some cool wildlife while parking. When we entered the winery, we weren’t greeted or given any information. We approached the bartender and said it was our first time there. He asked what we were interested in, and we said one of is a red wine drinker, one drinks white. We were handed two wine lists and told the list is from dry to sweet. No further information, but he said they also had beer. Other than that, it was us asking, do you have food? Are the entire grounds open to explore while drinking? Which way do we go? We received short answers and felt like a bother. We each chose a glass of wine based off the description on the list, and elected to walk and explore. Before our walk about, we asked should we start a tab or pay now. The bartender said he preferred we pay now. We sat outside and enjoyed the wine, but felt like something was missing. We walked in intending to taste wine and have charcuterie, but felt like we should leave. We finished up and put the empty glasses on the bar. No acknowledgement from the bartender. We left feeling like maybe we expected too much? We live on the lake, and have a great view at home, but we were looking forward to learning about some local wine and eating charcuterie. It was not to be, I guess. We may give it another chance on another day. The grounds are pretty!
Real nice winery. Wines were very good. Place is lovely & staff terrific. Highly recommend
The place is beautiful and the wine is delicious!
Had a great time watching the eclipse and enjoying White Caps wine!
Breathtaking location and farm, friendly workers. Nice that you can roam the property and relax on your own in nature with delicious wine there!
Delightful tasting with souvenir glass, friendly staff, unsurprisingly wines tend toward the sweeter side, all reasonably priced
Best place in the world!!! Karen is the greatest bar tender I have ever met!!!
Loved the setting and their wines! Bought 6 bottles and would have bought 7 if the Pilot was ready for sale. Owner was super nice!
