Glenmere Mansion Staff: It was our 45th wedding anniversary today and we wished to celebrate the occasion in style. The place we chose to make this a most memorable and treasured milestone in our lives was the Glenmere Mansion. Everything went perfect and as planned. We drove though the gates and were greeted by an attendant, who directed us to drive up the private roadway to the Mansion. We parked in the upper lot and the butler was waiting to open the door for us. We were greeted by Sarah who took us for a brief tour of the library, lounge area that leads to an outside terrace, with a splendid view of the lake. Just breathtaking indeed! We took in the sights and were in amazement at this peaceful and serene atmosphere that was so inviting and pleasurable. It was such a perfect way to just take some time to relax and enjoy life. Time stood still for a moment, so full of happiness and enjoyment, just to be away from the daily everyday business of life as usual. Glenmere Mansion was such an unusually peaceful oasis, where you can just sit back and enjoy nature, life and time stands still for you to reflect on personal enjoyment and to contemplate and enjoy a day in your life and what really matters to you the most in your life. What a difference a day makes, when it is spent at the Glenmere Manion in peace and tranquility! We had dinner in the Supper Room. The food was excellent, the service was top notch. Each plate with the textures and flavors were there just waiting for us to enjoy and savor. Cullen took care of us and was a very friendly, pleasant and enjoyable gentleman, who took the time to make our visit nothing but a most perfect experience. Complements to The Butler, Sarah, Cullen, Ashley and The Chef. They all made this a seamless symphony of enjoyment. Thanks to the owners Alan and Daniel who envisioned how life should be and how time can be shared and what a difference a day makes, if it was shared at Glenmere Mansion with those you love. Our memories will last forever. We just wanted you all to know how truly appreciative and grateful we both are and what a difference a day made in our lives at Glenmere Mantsion today, as we celebrated a major milestone ion our lives! Our experience was priceless! Anthony and Lorraine
I was here for a dinner for 2 We had a fixed menu recommended by Christian. Excellent waiter and customer service ,he knew everything about the courses in details plus he was funny ...great experience in a an amazing gorgeous place and food outstanding!!!
In addition to breakfast during our two night at the Glenmere Mansion, we had two dinners: one pre fixe and the other al la carte. Fine dining was closed due to Covid. Our pre fixe was the write truffle menu. Delicious pasta, nice Tuscan steak and a semifreddo. Our second dinner, was less exciting, but good nonetheless. Service was excellent. The maitre d was very attentive and made some excellent recommendations, including the wine we choose. He was very concerned that we had a good evening and would periodicaly check in with us. Breakfast at the Mansion was fine.
We were looking for small five star hotels offering outside dining that would be a short day trip for lunch from our home in Westchester country and found Glenmere on lists of top hotels in the Northeast. We also appreciate the Chateau and Relais brand having stayed at many of their properties around the world. We found Glenmere met or exceeded their standards. The buildings and property are wonderful and the food and service were outstanding. We enjoyed their Sea salt home cured meats; turkey, bacon, tomato and avocado sandwich; and braised short rib grilled cheese with tomato and arugula sandwich. The fries and flat bread were great too. They have a good set menu, some unique specialty hamburger and fries offerings and offer many daily specials. We would highly recommend for lunch or dinner and would consider for an overnight for a special occasion when we feel comfortable staying in hotels again.
Amazing, elegant and classy place, with courteous and kind staff. Here I had the best gourmet hamburger of my life. Delicious, I particularly appreciated the balance of the different tastes - the soft and the crunchy, the sweet and savory - and the quality of each of the ingredients. This place is a pearl, a real must-go. And a particular thanks to Christian, who made us feel at home.
My friend took me here as a surprise. There are few places anymore that capture romance and an almost "Downton" experience. The drive up to the mansion was beautiful complete with a family of deer and falling leaves. We were greeted by a lovely hostess, and then escorted through multiple elegant rooms by several other incredibly friendly staff. The dining room was exquisite. Comfortable with tall screens and a great view. Each course was amazing paired perfectly with a special wine. Matthieu was our host throughout the meal and made sure our every need was met. There were multiple staff waiting on us throughout the meal and it was a perfect operation. We had an incredible evening. What a beautiful property. Around us were couples of all ages, a work group, and other combinations. What a treat for anyone you would like to impress or appreciate. Highly recommend!
I just had dinner in the main dining room over the weekend. The building and views are beautiful, but the price-fixed menu was limited, and the cost was astronomical (extortion might be too strong a word, but it's pretty close). With tip, I wound up spending $300, and all we had was corn soup (which was good but there wasn't even enough to fully submerge the spoon into) and entrees were a risotto and a steak dish. The steak came with 5 small slices and for this there was a "$20 supplement" charged. Honestly I've had appetizers at other restaurants that came with larger portions. I highly doubt I'd ever eat there again because I'm so turned off to it. I enjoy eating out, but in principle there's no justification for pricing this absurdly inflated.
As you enter the mansion's stately gates and wind your way up the manicured driveway towards the salmon-pink villa atop the hill, you know you’re in for something special. And they didn’t disappoint. We were met at the front door by a hostess who eerily knew who we were. We were offered a table either in the handsome pub or outdoors in the elegant courtyard. We chose outside and were whisked away to our table, making it a very personal dining experience from the word go. The menu was casual, farm-fresh American fare - well rounded and varied. Something for everyone. The quality was exceptional and you could tell it was prepared with passion and integrity. The service was outstanding. Glenmere Mansion will definitely see us again!
Outstanding restaurant for dinner with friends in beautiful Chester NY. Restaurant was very historic and very clean. Menu was very different, but excellent choices. Service was the best and food was the best. Highly recommended Meatball, Pork and Filet Mignon dinners. Will definitely go back and highly recommend to others.
I've been to the Glenmere Mansion many times for Sunday brunch. And, I only invite "foodies" to come along. The setting is gorgeous and the space is exquisite. If I had completed this review prior to my visit this past Sunday I would have marked it as excellent across the board. This time, I was not so lucky. First of all, there was a party going on in an adjoining room and it truly ruined the upscale, "quietry" of the main dining room. Secondly, they have switched from champagne to Prosecco. Thirdly, they added a $10 surcharge for the lobster eggs Benedict. Finally, the service was far from what I had grown accustomed to at the Glenmere Mansion: She banged things around, left a leaf from the salad plate sitting on the table after she had removed the salad plates and did not bother to ask if we needed anything else. Please bring back the Sunday brunch I love so much!!

I recently had dinner in the Supper Room with my boyfriend. We've dined in the Tavern several times and have always loved the food but wanted to have a more "formal" night out together. Glenmere did not disappoint! From the moment we were greeted at the door, every one was so welcoming and friendly. The food was excellent and our server made the night even more fun. We're still talking about the risotto and lemon meringue dessert. It was definitely a memorable night and we can't wait for the opportunity to return!
