Stumbled in here by accident for dinner and a murder mystery performance! So looking specifically at The Hops Spot, the service was excellent. Our dinners were exquisite! The building itself is so gorgeous and I would love to dine here again under normal circumstances 😆

So glad to find a restaurant open a little later since most things were closed on a Monday evening. Everything we got was delicious!

The place is quite nice inside. The service was excellent. The food was not very good at all. I was very disappointed. I could not even drink the coffee. It was very weak and had a smokey taste to it. I ordered a hamburger, as did my husband. It stated on the menu that all burgers came medium unless otherwise requested. My husband stated that he wanted his done medium. It came out well done. The burger was not fresh. It appeared to be a pre-packaged burger. The burger was very tasteless. Would not recommend the food here. The service was very good and the staff were very nice. Pricing was very high for poor quality of food.

We sat outside at The Hop Spot. They have lots of outdoor seating. We ordered the Buffalo cauliflower (delicious), classic poutine (delicious), duck wings in the Thai chili lime sauce (so awesome we ordered a second order), fried green tomatoes (delicious), a burger (very tasty), a spinach salad (yummy) and fish n chips (the fish tasted like it had been frozen, thawed, refrozen, thawed and then cooked). We love to order lots of appetizers and share them. The service was attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back but will skip the fish n chips.

I wasted my money. The French fries came out tasting like cardboard, no salt or pepper or anything. The burger was a piece of meat on brioche buns and drenched in sauce. Not a piece of lettuce or vegetable in sight.
My dog would not eat that

We had a wonderful experience today for lunch.
The food was excellent, but what really made it a lovely lunch time meal was the excellent service we were given by Maddie!
She was friendly, kind and vert knowledgeable with the food and craft menu!
As a past owner in the industry I can say she's a keeper!

Relaxing atmosphere in their outside garden, friendly and efficient wait staff, reasonable prices, and delicious selections of food and craft beer! The pierogi appetizer is delicious as a filling lunch choice. Cheeseburgers and side salad with grape seed vinaigrette is mouthwatering! The majestic house has been standing since the early 1800s, before roads were made! The resident 'butler' keeps an eye on the place ? Enjoy!

Parking: Side streets are accommodating. We went on a Wednesday, not overly crowded, so plenty of spaces.

This is a nice place to go in Clayton amidst the shops and waterfront of the St Lawrence River. I really enjoyed sitting outside here and just taking in the day. My wife likes the burgers here and wanted me to try them. I ordered the Beer Cheese and Bacon Burger. My bad, I should have requested Medium Rare, for me it was overcooked. The pretzel bun was good and it has pretzel cheese along with homemade beer mustard. This was a big sandwich and very sloppy! Have napkins on hand. You will not go away hungry. As for the French fries, well, they are soft and mushy. I normally don't use ketchup on my fries preferring the saltiness. Not salty, just mushy. Unfortunately this is one of those places that doesn't have a ketchup bottle on the table. They serve it in one of those tiny 1/2 oz tubs. Dreadful. I also ordered an October Fest beer thinking I'd be getting a Sam Adams, nope...it's a Great Lakes beer in a can. For her part, my wife enjoyed her burger and the small salad as a side. She also ordered fries, she had one or two and didn't eat anymore. I was really hoping to like this place, but it's a struggle aside from the atmosphere. Another couple sat next to us. I noticed the wife's sandwich and asked about it, it was the lobster roll. I will return here and order that sandwich and a salad next time. Take aways: If you like crispy fries, possibly ask them to keep them in the fryer longer. If you don't like overcooked meat, specify the doneness. If you want Sam Adams October Fest, go somewhere else. Request extra ketchup. Enjoy the ambiance of the place, don't have high expectations for the food. Also overpriced, but this is a tourist town so to be expected. See the pics for the bill.

Nice midweek lunch. Beautiful grounds and building, it was really enjoyable to sit and enjoy the area. Food was delicious. Tons of Vegan options. The beer, cider, margaritas, spritz, and wine options need multiple visits to explore. Looking forward to coming back! Cheers!

Very pretty little spot. Good for drinks and maybe appetizers. We had dinner and we're not impressed with the food. We did eat here twice because the outdoor space and atmosphere is really nice.

Great location.
We got lucky and got a table outside even though it was tilted, but it is a really nice patio.
I'd recommend burgers, but steer clear off poutines as it's just french fries with sauces and additions (we tried 2 different ones).
Decent selection of beer though

Air conditioning and beer, this was a lovely break in my exploration of North New York. Not too busy on a weeknight, the hostess was able to find a table near a power outlet so I could charge my phone and so I was here for about an hour to do that.

In the meanwhile, a flight of tasty beers and while sipping them, a couple of Yelp reviews got written and posted. Quiet in this section of the restaurant and while I didn't have dinner, I did see a few appetizers come out to the next table. Well plated and well received.

Parking: Plenty of street parking on this block and others nearby.
