A delicious lunch of a grilled cheese with bacon, and a side of hot yummy fries. Love the Irish theme. The food is very fresh, made to order, can definitely tell. And very clean and friendly
Recently visited Chieftans with my adult daughters and infant grandson. The service from Lawrence was excellent and we had a great time. We look forward to visiting again soon!!

A great place to eat and hang out! A friend and I went out to get an early dinner, and we were promptly seated, ordered, and served our food and drinks. The waitress, Olivia, was very nice and made sure to check in and make sure everything was going great. We both got quesadillas which were delicious! After eating, we moved over to the bar for a drink and had excellent service and conversation with Lawrence, the bartender. Would definitely recommend going, and will be back myself!

I went open Mic Night and had a wonderful time! I like the decor, atmosphere and staff. It had a cozy, relaxed air to it and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. I'd go again!

Went for dinner. Was great but it's the same menu. You need to expand the choices.

Very sad to say my husband and I had an awful experience at this restaurant! We came in excited about the good reviews and seeing pictures of the food. We walked in at 6pm Saturday and were told that there may be a little wait for the food, about 20-30 minutes, we were fine with the wait as the restaurant wasn’t very busy.. When did we get our food? 8PM! We were about to leave at 7:55pm when we flagged over a waitress to ask if our food would almost be ready because we had been waiting 2 HOURS.. She went to the kitchen and came back with my husband’s fish & chips and my burger, saying they both just finished as she walked back there.. As we went to finally take a bite, both of our dishes were cold! She apologized for that, agreeing the kitchen was quite behind that night, and many other guests were waiting much longer than they were told for their food too. I’m sure perhaps there was an understaffing problem, but the restaurant wasn’t even close to a quarter full..
Not only that, but the waitress who got us our food wasn’t even our original waitress. Our original waitress had only checked on us once, after she took our orders and gave us water she only came back about an hour later to refill our water and apologize for the wait. At the time we had been waiting over double the wait time we were told but understanding that it wasn’t something she could control as a waitress, we hoped that the food would come out any minute following though..
We really wished the staff had been more transparent about the troubles the kitchen was having that night.. I am in my first trimester, and waiting two hours for my burger and onion rings was ridiculous!! I was starting to get nauseous from how hungry I was from waiting an hour and a half longer than we were told.
I do have to say we were very appreciative of the one waitress who did get us our food, she asked us how long we waited for it and when we told her it was literally 2 hours on the dot she agreed that was too long and gave us the food on the house along with to go boxes..

Very poor. Waited 2 hours for food and then the salads were limp and the burger small and overcook. A sad dinner for our 16 year old grandsons birthday. Can’t understand why the place wasn’t closed if the chef was out?? Never again!!!

Restaurantji Recommends
I ordered a bowl of French onion soup around lunchtime. The establishment was pretty empty due to the time of day. I waited at least 10-15 minutes for the soup and the flavor was off. To explain it, I would say it tasted as though maybe it was someone’s first time making it or maybe it was prepared quite a while ago. Now everyone knows the cheese is the best part of the soup. There was barely any cheese and it was not even melted thoroughly in the way it is supposed to be for that specific soup. It was not horrible. It just felt like a lazy attempt even though it took so long to come out. Unfortunately ,in Cobleskill we are very limited in our dining selections besides the many fast food restaurants. I recommend the Bullshead for French onion soup. They do a fantastic job and it is delicious.

The outdoor seating is great on warm days. The burger quality was not good at all, but the chicken wings were nice. They can make any sauce you’d like. Food takes a bit longer to come out due to being short-staffed, so you need to be patient. The staff is friendly, and the good thing is the restaurant has parking.

We visited the Chieftans a couple times when we lived in the schoharie Valley. The food was ok. Service was attentive and respectful. The location was on main street in cobelskil so parking could be a hassle sometimes. There may have been a small lot at the end of the street but ido not remember. If you are in the area, it is worth a stop.
