It's interesting that the most recent review had the same exact experience as I did.
Two tables that were seated after us got bread baskets and their water before we did. In fact, we didn't get the TAP water and coke that we ordered until AFTER we got our food. It was obvious that the people in the town were racist and the food was as tasteless as they were.
If you're a person of color, don't bother coming here or stepping foot in this town. You'll be happier and so will the people who live and work here.
Here is my experience here broken down by time:
12:34 PM - Seated 12:38 PM - Drinks order was taken (tap water and coke) 12:43 PM - Food order was taken (2 dishes, 1 soup) 12:48 PM - Bread came out with olive oil, bread was cold (not room temperature - COLD.) Also, I noticed that we received 3 pcs of bread as a table of 3. Looked over at the table next to us and they received 5 pieces (table of 2)... 1:09 PM (35 minutes after being seated) - Food was served (Pizza Margherita, Soup of the day, Fusilli Integrali as Funghi Selvatica) 1:16 PM (42 minutes after being seated) - Tap water came out. 1:18 PM - My coke came out 1:31 PM - Received the check
I don't know why I tipped 20% to be honest. Both the service and the food were extremely disappointing. The pasta was the worst pasta I ever had. It was cooked al dente which is fine, but had no flavor whatsoever. The pizza margherita tasted like someone watched a youtube video on how to make pizza a year ago and then tried making it from memory. Also, who makes pizza margherita without basil? That's just weird. The field greens were good though.
The only reason I'm giving the food 2 stars instead of 1 is because my mom enjoyed her soup. Oh yeah, and they charged $9 for the soup instead of $8 like it says on the menu. Posted the menu and receipt to this review.
And just as a disclaimer, I couldn't care less if a small restaurant takes a long time to bring out food when they're as busy as they were yesterday. My main issue other than the food being bad was how our table was treated compared to others.

We had a reservation for 6:30 and arrived at 6 and were promptly seated with menus. We then waited for 20 min wondering when someone would get to us but still were patient because it was busy. After noticing 2 tables that sat down after us get bread baskets and orders taken, we realized this was intentional. We also were the only non white people in the room and drew the conclusion that we were not welcome there and they did not want to serve us. After almost 30 min, we walked out and will never return again. I believe the hostess was the owner, who saw us walking out and didn’t ask us why or showed any care. Will warn others and tell them to avoid this racist restaurant.

I am Italian and that was worst pasta I’ve ever had. I don’t like to leave negative reviews because I support small businesses. I didn’t try any of the meat meals so they might be good. We ordered the spaghetti con pepe e pecorino and the pasta special “penne con marscapone e arancia” all of the dishes were over cooked and the service wasn’t amazing either. Atmosphere was nice.

a very disappointing meal on a pleasant day. Server took forever to just give us the bread before our appetizer. Also a pretty unfriendly person overall, no apologies whatsoever after 1 hour of wait for our food. Worst thing was the pasta was absolutely horrible, even my 10 year old sister can make better pasta

One star because the manager was nice. Restaurant is also nicely decorated. Wait time was far too long, multiple other tables who were seated after us got their food much sooner. We’re pretty certain that our order was not even sent to the kitchen initially, as the waiter had to ask us again if he took our order. He did not once ask us how the food was (bland and hairy - yes, hairy.) Racial component? Maybe, because no one else looked like us and it seems we got the worst service. Then we got chased down because someone who didn’t do a single part of their job correctly wanted an amazing tip. And to make matters worse, the food was incredibly bland, one of our pastas were undercooked and the other was overcooked, the portions are terrible for the price. AND the bread was cold and hard. We were told not to come back, which was completely heartbreaking as we were never planning on it.

Overall very disappointing. Like someone said previously the lighting is terrible. Very empty for a Friday night. The Maitre-de was very friendly and inviting. Service otherwise was not very good in general. Our waitress was always quick to depart with minimal interaction. Other staff constantly hovering over you to take your plates and empty glasses with absolutely no personality. Overall service not professional as you would expect in a "wannabee" upscale restaurant. Now the food. Lentil soup was very good, salad was a joke a child could make it, Halibut was delicious and my pasta was small on portion side but good except on the salty side. Nice that they split the soup and salad for us. Wine pours were on the small side especially for $17 each. I'm sure there are better places to eat for the price. Sorry but was hoping for a better experience.

The appetizers and entrees were just ok, but the dessert was delicious. Not sure if they make it on site. The servers were quick, courteous, and friendly. Likely wouldn’t come back due to the underwhelming pasta and appetizers.
Surprisingly high quality Italian food with a very warm service some interesting and unique dishes located in the middle of Cold spring.

We visit this restaurant every time we are in Cold Spring. The staff is fantastic and very accommodating. The food is delicious and freshly made. They are able to accommodate my allergies (dairy and gluten). We have probably eaten here 5-6 times and the food has been consistently delicious. I have tried everything from the fish, the pastas and the appetizers.
lgbtq couple here - we did not feel welcome from the moment we walked in. the host would not look us in the eye and would refuse to put our name on the waitlist or give us instructions for how to dine in. i don’t want to make assumptions but it felt very homophonic.
