Cold Spring Coffeehouse deserves credit for its creativity—did you ever have a poached egg and goat cheese cruffin? Neither did I. Beyond those inventive touches, the place fits right in with the charm of the village. The pastry and coffee selection is broad and appealing, making it a good stop if you’re in town.
That said, prices are on the higher side for what you get—this is Cold Spring, not New York City. The backyard could also use a bit of TLC, but overall it’s a pleasant spot to grab a coffee and a snack. For me, it’s a solid four-star place: nice atmosphere, creative offerings, and worth a visit when you’re in the area.

Coffee is exceptionally terrible
The sweet and salty pretzel and the almond plum muffin were both excellent hiking snacks.
Quick stop to grab a coffee and a muffin. We tried the plum and almond muffin and it was delicious. The mushroom egg pretzels were just okay. They have a wide variety of pretzels too!

This places is incredible! The girls behind the counter are SO kind and so authentic and the brown butter flavor that I got in my coffee was perfect! Real, not too sweet, and homemade.
What else do you need!?
(Maybe some mushroom coffee, but that's just cuz I drink it;)

Food was great.
However there are mice roaming the dining area- coming in and out of the baseboards under tables by your feet. We alerted staff and they didn’t do anything but say “sorry”.
The must know about the problem, there is mice poop in the bathroom.

I’m a local, I live and work in town and have been coming here for years now. It used to be that even when it was busy, the service was warm and friendly. There is always music playing, but it used to be a calm coffee shop vibe that was great for sitting and working or chatting with friends. I don’t know what happened but the change in staff has been awful. It’s a bunch of teenagers behind the counter. They’re rude and barely engage with the customers. My friend and I have both received the wrong order multiple times. When she asked to have it fixed, they rolled their eyes.
The music is loud, and seems to usually be rap or something else. It’s not the kind of music you can sit and enjoy. It’s the opposite of inviting in there now.
I used to go there 3-4 times a week and I avoid it now. It’s really disappointing to see because it’s really the only coffee shop in town.

Great cafe! The lattes are creamy to the last drop and the pastries fresh and delicious.I very much enjoyed stopping by for coffee. The only con, might be the lack of focus and attention to details at times. There was a young boy on register who kept biting his nails and spiting them out on the floor while other customers were waiting on their orders

I have no idea what happened to this place, but I've been coming here for years and lately it's just absolutely awful. The customer service is terrible - they have gotten my order so wrong and so often that I can't go back and risk being sick again. The kids behind the counter are way more interested in playing rap trap and making it their own space than listening to a food allergy or remembering an order. No locals hang out there anymore, I used to use it as a third space to work and have coffee and see people and now I can't. It's really upsetting. The coffee has gotten worse, the service and warmth left with Tyler and Jace.

I think this is the best cafe and fresh pastries in Cold Spring and I always come here. During the week, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, over the weekend, they put all teenagers in charge, with no experience and no one to monitor correct them it seems…
This Sunday's young man, seems reluctant to be here and is always biting his nails in front of the register and spiting it out on the floor, touch his hair holding the bag when serving the pastries.I specifically asked him for a latte in a cup to stay and he gave me a paper cup. When I asked them to correct the order, he strode by and rolled his eyes with the other girl who changed my latte.
I really hope those things will change because I always recommend the cafe to everyone I know!

Racist y mal servicio no lo recommendo
Nice coffee shop. I went in with a friend to grab coffee before our hike and we see a line so we ask “can we place an order” the cashier looks us up and down with the nastiest face and her 2 pimple patches and says “can…you…order….?” She looked so annoyed and her face seemed as if she was talking to a slow child then goes “well are…you…ready…to order” she had the nastiest attitude as if she didn’t wanna be there. 2/10 would not recommend.

All the reviews about the flies on the food are correct. The owner can't handle constructive criticism and is quick to leave rude replies. Next!
