River House is a pretty dining spot, across from the river making for a serene dining experience. We had a relaxed and enjoyable meal. Their restaurant week prix fixe lunch is a standout, featuring dishes that are delicious and an exceptional value.
The New England crab and corn chowder was rich and satisfying. The salmon was nicely seasoned and not over cooked. The strip steak was done just right and favorful. For dessert we had the apple tartine and the chocolate mousse cake which were good but the vanilla ice cream the tart came with was very good.
Food and drinks: Highly recommend the prix fixe menu.

Today is your last day to take advantage of Hudson Valley restaurant week! I use it as an opportunity to visit places that have been on my saved list of places to try. When the restaurant provides the prefix menu the hope is it is their best dishes. The Hudson House did not disappoint. The moment you walk in you are greeted with a sense of hospitality that you are a welcomed guest. Service was great. I do want to point out for the families the great options on the kid’s menu. Look below at the kids’ salmon option which was quickly devoured.
Don’t miss the opportunity to visit Cold Springs by train, car, or ferry. Main Street is a delight to walk and the views of the Hudson River are picturesque. Did I forget to mention the fall foliage?
Rooms: Rooms costs between 200 and 300 hundred and are posted in the lobby
Nearby activities: The fabulous view of the river with hiking trails nearby.
Safety: Cops are parked along all access points and the police station is located on Main Street.
Walkability: It is a short walk from the Metro North train station and parking is close by.
Food and drinks: Great food served with fancy craft tacos.
Noteworthy details: Make a reservation if you want the best view. Outside seat is available.

THIS PLACE IS AWESOME! The food is delicious, the service is so warm. We're still thinking about our autumn sangria that tasted just like a freshly baked apple pie. UNREAL. Mike was our server that afternoon and he was the best! Super funny (he matched our NYC humor) and very attentive without it feeling overwhelming. The prices here are fair, the view of the mountains from the dining room is breathtaking. A truly unforgettable experience.

Went for Dinner with my wife during a weekend drive. The service was pleasant and polite if maybe a tad slow at first. I had a very tasty Stake and some popovers which are a light and fluffy pastry like bread boy they were good! My wife had Scallops that she claimed were outstanding as well. The restaurant overlooks the Hudson, and we sat on the patio and enjoyed great fall views. If you want to go, make reservations or be prepared to wait over an hour.

Have no idea how this place received a four + star. Overly priced, half filled drinks, and terrible service. Food wasn’t great either. Tourist trap..
Had an incredible stay! Such a charming historic inn. Beautifully furnished and decorated.
Dinner at the hotel restaurant was delicious- highly recommended the pesto crusted Alaskan cod and crab cake stuffed shrimp.
Service all around was wonderful - from the moment of check in throughout our dinner and stay we felt welcomed.
For those who complain the hotel is “old” - did you bother to look at the website? It was built in 1832 - that’s the point - the opportunity to stay in a historic treasure that has modern conveniences while retaining its nearly 200 year old charm.
Yes our room, number 14, was small but absolutely beautiful with its reproduction period wall paper and four poster bed. The bathroom was clean and modern. The window AC worked as did the ceiling fan.
My only recommendation would be a plushy mattress topper to ease the arthritic backs of us Gen X-ers.

We visited at 12 PM on a Saturday afternoon. We were seated quickly inside the restaurant, which had a cozy atmosphere. Complimentary bread and butter were served, though they were just okay. We ordered steamed clams, pizza, lobster soup, and crab meat with salmon; all tasted fresh and good. Overall, it was an okay experience, considering this is a small town outside NYC with limited dining options.

Ate here after a hike. I'd never had lobster bisque before but it was absolutely lovely. The French onion soup was delicious as well. The tuna entree was a little underwhelming for me, the green beans, carrots and spinach it's served on are very bland and the fish isn't that incredible either. Overall, a good experience though.
Absolutely adorable place for rest with Family or friends.

Today we had brunch here. Very good food, atmosphere is pleasant and relaxing. Lyndsay and Cindy where absolutely the best, felt like I was home. Welcoming and quite accommodating. Mini crab cake appetizer just melt on your mouth, and the lobster bisque, mmmmmmmmm.! I had the New England lobster hash, absolutely delicious. The steak hash was just as good. Highly Recommend to all my family, friends and customers! You will not be disappointed!

I got charged $3.50 for a side salad on my burger order. Which truthfully would have been ok if it didn’t come out limp and lame. My burger ordered medium rare came out overcooked and lacking taste. It was dry and tasteless with a sad side salad. Why am I being charged for a tiny side of salad with limp lettuce and a chopped half cherry tomato ? when you can get fries and sweet potato fries for free!? Why does that make sense? Anyway - our server never came back to check up on us. Kinda pricey, kinda mediocre food. But the location is nice. Right by the water.
