Popped in on Valentine's for a bowl of soup after some shopping in Cold Spring. Service and general vibe was excellent. Shoutout to Jamie for being super cool.
My husband and I stay here every February and have the best time ever. It’s a wonderful hotel with wonderful service. One of my favorite places. :)
Popped in here to charge my phone for an and I’m gonna stay for food now… the owner/manager is an absolute joy. He creates this warm environment, practically gifted me a tea and people seem to be relaxed and enjoying the food. Lovely place.
It was such a wonderful valentines weekend stay, the owner was so accommodating and friendly, and I would not have changed a thing. The room felt like home, everything was cozy and clean, would def come again, it is in a super convenient area where everything in the town is nearby. loved it! :)
Great service
Thank you so much to Jimmy, Frank, and the rest of the incredible team here at Cold Spring Hotel and Cafe for making my stay so above and beyond lovely. Everyone is so kind and attentive and truly made me feel cared for and comfortable. Frank was always available to make a delicious (and even gluten free!) meal, and Jimmy made a point of connecting and ensuring I had what I needed at every point. Just one example -- after offering me a muffin and then learning I had a gluten allergy, his wife came out with a piece of warm, home-baked gluten-free banana bread and told me she had the same allergy. I take day trips to Cold Spring often but had never stayed over -- I'm so glad that I did so at the Cold Spring Hotel and Cafe. I will absolutely be returning!
We came for a quick lunch and the food was great!! The owner was so kind and warm! Food was delicious - would recommend the falafel!
Great hospitality!
This was a great find in Cold Springs. Cute and intimate space, nothing complicated or extra, just a welcoming atmosphere and an owner who wants you to feel at home. We came for Thanksgiving and a lot of folks who were back home for the holiday were coming in to say hello to him. Comfortable spot in a cute town.
My girlfriend and I stayed here for three days and nights at the end of September, as we did last year, and it was just as lovely the second time around. Room and food were pleasantly home-y, and the cafe downstairs was a good environment for getting those last bits of work done. Central location from which to go for a hike, meander the town, etc. The owner Jimmy is a gem. Generous and unfailingly courteous through our whole stay, with a good sense of humor, he went out of his way to check in that we were comfortable. This is now our go-to for any time either we or our friends stay in Cold Spring.

We did not stay at the hotel, but ate at the cafe. It is not possible to review just the cafe, but that is the scope of my review. I wish I looked at the reviews first, but it was a busy Saturday and the surrounding cafes and restaurant’s had long wait times and we had a toddler who was hungry. In hindsight we should have waited and gone somewhere else. The service was fine, however, the food was underwhelming. Chicken noodle soup from a can heated up in the microwave! An avocado toast and Mediterranean salad served on paper plates with plastic utensils. The establishment is also not family friendly as they didn’t have high chairs or a baby changing table in the bathroom. Overall a disappointing experience since I have heard good reviews of the Cold Spring area. From reading responses from the owner concerning negative reviews, it doesn’t sound like they take constructive feedback well. Perhaps it’s time. Cold Spring was lovely. Plan to eat somewhere else to get your money’s worth.
We stayed with Jimmy this past weekend and he is a wonderful host. The hotel was great and the food is excellent as well! Incredibly hospitable and perfect location right in the middle of Main Street, this is a great place to stay for your trip to Cold Spring. We hope to see you and your family again soon!
We stayed at this hotel last fall and had really enjoyed it. The room was clean and the family that owned it was so welcoming. The location can't be beat - the inn is right in the town of Cold Spring, very close to the train station and trails. We found it an excellent place to stay for weekend, and enjoyed breakfast before our hike and a shower immediately after! The owners even held our bags for extra time so we could squeeze in one last hike.
The pictures online are accurate and the inn is a good value for the location. I would recommend a room on the second floor if possible.
nice owners! get the gyro
We came here for lunch after a long hike and to say we were dissatisfied is an understatement. I'm genuinely confused how this place has so many positive reviews. For starters, meals were served on paper plates with plastic utensils, not what I expect from a restaurant... The paninis were cold and poor quality ingredients and the soup was bland. This food was worse than what you could find in a public school lunchroom. Would not recommend. Go anywhere else in town.
