We stayed at this hotel last fall and had really enjoyed it. The room was clean and the family that owned it was so welcoming. The location can't be beat - the inn is right in the town of Cold Spring, very close to the train station and trails. We found it an excellent place to stay for weekend, and enjoyed breakfast before our hike and a shower immediately after! The owners even held our bags for extra time so we could squeeze in one last hike. The pictures online are accurate and the inn is a good value for the location. I would recommend a room on the second floor if possible.

We came here for lunch after a long hike and to say we were dissatisfied is an understatement. I'm genuinely confused how this place has so many positive reviews. For starters, meals were served on paper plates with plastic utensils, not what I expect from a restaurant... The paninis were cold and poor quality ingredients and the soup was bland. This food was worse than what you could find in a public school lunchroom. Would not recommend. Go anywhere else in town.

My partner wanted to go on a weekend trip to Cold Spring and had trouble finding an affordable hotel until we came across Cold Spring Hotel & Cafe online. I called the phone number on the website and I was immediately accommodated by Jimmy and booked immediately. The hotel was very easy to find since it was on Main Street. When we got there we were welcomed by Jimmy himself, and was even recommended some places to visit in Cold Spring. Overall the process was simple and convenient and we had the best time because of Jimmy’s welcoming nature and positivity. I would HIGHLY recommend staying here. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

I visited this café not realizing it was also a hotel. While I waited in line, my partner went to use the bathroom — which happened to be in the same direction she was walking when the man behind the counter abruptly stopped her and spoke harshly. Only after I bought a coffee did he let her use it.
When I politely suggested they post a sign to avoid confusion, he got defensive and said even with a sign, people would still wander. It felt like he preferred confronting customers instead of preventing the issue. He then said, “This is my house and you’re telling me what to do,” which was unnecessarily aggressive.
He wasn’t rude to other customers, only to us. Based on how management replies to other negative reviews, this attitude unfortunately seems to be a pattern.

Jimmy took such great care of us. He has a great personality and food recommendations. He went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. We loved the pancakes and avocado toast. We would definitely come back!

Ate at the cafe. Good food at great prices. Very friendly people and atmosphere. Got to eat quickly despite lunch rush hour.

Great value for a clean and hospitable hotel experience in a prime location, was perfect for what we needed as a couple with a toddler who desperately needed to get away from the city for a few nights. We could walk to the waterfront and restaurants and nearby playground. Hotel owner is thoughtful and generous, would stay here again.
