I've dined at the Hawkeye Bar and Grill many times and in every season. The food is always good. The service is excellent. Yesterday was no exception. It was a picture perfect day to eat outside. We were lucky enough to get a table with an unobstructed view of the lake. Our server, Clayton, greeted us promptly. It was very clear from that interaction, that we were in good hands. Not only is Clayton personable, but he is very knowledgeable about the menu to the level of knowing the nuances of flavoring. At Clayton's recommendation, I started with the Pink Garden Club as my cocktail. Delicious. My husband ordered an iced tea. As an appetizer, we split the hummus. Not only was it delicious, but it was a feast for the eyes. I ordered the surf and turf sandwich special (lobster salad and medium rare filet on a delicious roll). On the side were perfectly cooked and salted sweet potato fries. I didn't think that I could eat it all, but it was so good, all I left was 1/4 of the roll. My husband had a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup which was the soup of the day. While the desserts are tempting, at that point, we didn't have any room left to enjoy one. We will definitely return, sooner rather than later. At that time, we will specifically request Clayton as our server. HE'S THAT GOOD!

Our server was friendly and polished. He even reminded me to move more in the shade because I was on meds that require me to stay out of the sun. We loved our table and view. The Mezze salad I had with shrimp was awesome as was hubby's cold cucumber soup and grilled cheese sandwich. It was a perfect visit and meal.

Our server was very nice and efficient, and the chicken wings we had as a starter were Very tasty, but my entree was awful; the salmon was overcooked, the herbed rice was dry and tasteless and the carrots had no flavor whatsoever. The kitchen should try harder.

Service was terribly slow, took 15min just to get a drink after asking twice. Food took an hour for two burgers, which had little to no flavor. Had to ask server if our food was coming out soon after waiting an hour. Definitely wouldn't recommend this restaurant for lunch.

It's a nice venue and the service was fine. The food isn't horrible but I have had equally satisfying and even better meals at various chain establishments such as Applebee's without paying as much.
