Not enough parking. Ice machine broken.Very expensive for basic accommodation but it was high season. They will wake you up at 815 with a leaf blower. In July. Not leaf season. There were no leaves to blow. It's loud. Kids clomping up the metal outside stairwell or banging on their own door with no care for others, slamming doors, etc. Lots of baseball kids in town for tournaments and it sounded like they were playing a game right next door. You do get 1 free boat ride and 1 $5 meal discount per person per night. So our family of 4 stayed 2 nights we got 8 coupons for our $650. Just one boat ride not 4 or 8 though. I go to use 5 of them, our relative joined us for dinner the first night, and the waitress takes 20 not 25 off the bill. We say what's up, and she shows me 4 coupons. I know I handed her a stack of 5 but trusted her not to screw up by accident or screw us over on purpose. Next time, show them how many you are handing them, count them in front of the server. 5 dollar lesson learned. I get back to the room and yup, there are 3 not 4 coupons left. Food was okay, you're overpaying for the location and view but this left a sour taste.325 a night with tax for a motel (I think they changed their name at some point to hotel but it is a motel) and they have to screw us over like that for 5 extra bucks?Same owners of motel and restaurant I think.I will add a star because the towels provided were some of the nicest ones I've ever had. A strange thing to ace but they did.Just admire the pictures of the lake and the orange roofs of the "hotel" and thank me if you didn't stay here.Rooms: Great towels, seemed clean, AC worked okay, small TV, fridge froze everything on a medium setting and there's no microwave. Bathroom was redone but no shelf at the pedestal sink and hair dryer very old.Walkability: Walk to the Hall of Fame

Older, family owned, clean.Gal at front desk had an attitude, think she judges before meeting you???The Scenic Cruise on Lake was really interesting and nice. The bartender on board was full of knowledge about the history of Lake and surrounding banks. Water was a beautiful aqua green, gorgeous!!! Restaurant served great food, service was a little slooow.?No microwave in room asked the “gal” at front desk if she would pop it for me…..big mistake burnt it, smelled horrible could not enjoy it with a little down time. She made her point! Walking distance to town , good restaurants and CoopersTown. If I were to visit again I would stay downtown quaint and friendly people. No such thing as a true water view or balcony to speak of, js

The owners of this beautiful upstate, NY establishment in small town, Cooperstown, USA, nailed it!!! You will stay on beautiful Lake Otsego where you will see breathtaking views. You have the luxury of a restaurant and a tour boat to take you around the lake. Everything in this lovely town is no more than a 10 minute walk. The Lake Front people are incredibly charming, friendly and the rooms are beautifully cozy and it simply takes you away from your troubles of the world. Don’t hesitate on the Lake Front Hotel. Wouldn't refund even part of our $750 (for two nights) after we learned shortly after checking in that our son was hospitalized and we needed to leave. Person in the office had absolutely no empathy or sensitivity to our situation. It's as if he had never been around someone worried about a family member. Kept telling us the manager was unavailable. Clearly this motel is about making money and cares little about its customers.

We've stayed here many, many times in the past 30+ years, always on top floor, beautiful view looking at to the lake, restaurant very nice to eat at. My suggestion would be to put actual showerheads in the shower, so you aren't bombarded with steady spray coming at you with no way of controlling it, ir escaping it! Parents with small children can't give them showers as it sprays right into their faces! And a nice size vanity in the bathrooms, especially the ones with queen beds, which have a bigger bathroom, would be very helpful for toiletries, etc. There is plenty of room for one. That little shelf over the toilet doesn't cut it.

Clean, bright, comfortable! Comfortable stay. Chairs to sit outside, plus chairs by the boats. Excellent food choices for all three meals. Easy walk to baseball Hall of Fame or around the town. We will return.

Less than 2 blocks from museum. These two tired travelers were pleased to walk to dinner at the onsite restaurant. The food was excellent - too bad for the back of the house that the front of the house placed cartons and papers on the two bistro table right inside the door. That initial impression had us almost turning around, and we would have missed a really fresh and delicious meal. The hotel room and bathroom was really small, but was worth it for the proximity to the Hall of Fame. The bed was comfortable and the room was immaculately clean and quiet - which is most important to us. I loved the wall treatments. Every surface in the room as well as the exterior siding and stonework of this quaint hotel was super clean and maintained. I was surprised by how low the toilet was though, lol. And we were also surprised at the level of humidity/dampness in the rooms. We guessed it is normal/unavoidable for a structure so close to the lake. Overall a great stay! Would definitely recommend.

The Lake Front Hotel is the ideal place to stay when you’re visiting Cooperstown, NY, because of its great location. It’s just two short blocks from the National Baseball Hall of Fame and a short walk to the downtown shops and restaurants. While there are a few places to stay a bit closer to Main Street, none of them offers the amazing view provided by the Lakefront Hotel. Situated on Otsego Lake, it offers breathtaking views of the lake and mountains. You couldn’t ask for a better location. At the time I made my reservation in March, the Lakefront hotel had the best prices I could find in the area, which was surprising given its great location. The hotel is made up of three buildings, each with two floors. The upstairs rooms have decks and the downstairs rooms have small patios. I stayed in room 21, which is on the second floor and directly faces the lake. Parking is in the lot in front of the building. The room, which is a decent size, has a Queen-size bed and one end table with a phone and lamp (which is rather large and takes up valuable surface space). There is a bureau with four drawers, a flat screen television and a small table with two wicker chairs (not the most comfortable). The closet contains hangers and one luggage rack. Note that other than WiFi, the room doesn’t offer much in the way of amenities, such as a microwave, safe, mini-fridge or clock, but we managed ok. While the hotel changes the sheets every third day, daily housekeeping is not a given. In the check-in form you fill out, you are asked if you would like daily housekeeping. Also note that at the check-in desk there is a sign advising you to keep your front door closed because it’s a buggy area. The room has only one solid door but no screen door. Once I returned to my room to find the door covered with some small bugs, which eventually disappeared. Overall, bugs were not a problem. The bathroom is a decent size. My only criticism, which is true of other hotels I have stayed at, is that there isn’t enough shelf space. There are two small glass shelves above the toilet but that’s not enough space for two adults to put their stuff. The hotel has its own restaurant with outdoor seating facing the lake. It’s open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. On check-in we each received a $5 off coupon for each day of our stay to be used at the restaurant, which can be used singly or in any combination. We also received a free ticket for a tour on the Glimmerglass Queen, a boat docked right outside the restaurant that takes you out on Otsego Lake for an hour. Note that you cannot make a reservation for the boat and tickets go on sale about 15 minutes before the boat departs. A minimum of 10 people is required for a tour. The free meal and boat coupons are a nice touch. In addition to being walking distance of the Baseball Hall of Fame, Doubleday Field and the Heros of Baseball Wax Museum, the Lakefront Hotel is a short car ride from The Otesaga Resort, which has a restaurant with outdoor seating overlooking the lake, as well as the Fenimore Art Museum and the Farmers Museum across the street. Although we didn’t go there, Glimmerglass State Park is less than 10 miles away. And the Barnyard Swing Mini Golf Course, which we did go to, is just a 10 minute ride from the hotel. There is a trolley that goes to the main tourist attractions but we didn’t use it. The first cross street up from the hotel—Lake Street—is a residential area. I enjoyed walking through the neighborhood in the morning on my way to and from Stagecoach Coffee, about three block from the hotel. I would bring my coffee back to the hotel and sit on the Adirondack chairs facing the river and enjoy the view. Exploring the neighborhood we also discovered that by going up Fair Street and making a left on Lake Street and walking a few blocks down, there is a small park where you can sit on a bench and take in the lake view. Cooperstown is a good place to just relax and enjoy the scenery but also has enough shops, restaurants and activities to keep you busy and the Lake Front Hotel is a great base from whi

Another great trip to induction weekend. Lakefront is the best place to stay. Friendly staff, clean room, and close to everything. No other place we would stay. If you stay, don’t forget to take a ride on the Glimmerglass Queen. See you again next year!

The rooms need some updating but great staff and great location, you can walk everywhere. Your stay also gets you a free boat tour which I’d recommend.
